Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) Services

Turn the questions your customers ask most into clear answers they can trust.

We'll reply with a written proposal: the work, what we need from you and an estimated timeline.

Where useful answers go wrong

Find which customer questions are hidden, contradicted or not backed up on your site

You don't show up as the answer just by adding an FAQ section or squeezing every reply into the same number of words. We find exactly where things break down: between the question, the page that should answer it, the answer itself, its proof and the next useful step for the reader.

  • Important questions have no clear page to answer them

The same question is answered on a service page, a blog post, a help article and a sales page, or nowhere at all. Search engines and buyers find copies of the answer that repeat, compete with or only partly match each other.

  • The direct answer is buried under background text

The page talks around the topic before it actually answers the question. The useful sentence is missing the condition, unit, date or exception that makes it safe for Google to quote and useful to a reader.

  • Every question is forced into the same format

Definitions, step-by-step guides, comparisons, calculations and troubleshooting choices don't belong in identical paragraphs. The wrong format makes an answer harder to understand, even when the facts are right.

  • Claims are separated from their proof and context

Numbers, product details and recommendations appear without a nearby original source, method, reviewer or update date. A short answer can then be quoted elsewhere without the limit that makes it accurate.

  • Out-of-date schema advice drives the plan

Google stopped showing FAQ rich results (the expandable questions under a search result) in May 2026, retired HowTo rich results in 2023, and QAPage labels are not meant for FAQs you write yourself. Yet these labels are still sold as a shortcut for every page, instead of being matched to what the page really is.

  • Visibility is reported without showing answer quality or business value

A screenshot of a snippet or a score from an outside tool doesn't show whether the answer stayed accurate, earned a useful click, helped someone finish a task or led to a real inquiry. Each check needs context and a real result attached to it.

Exactly what's included

What our answer engine optimization services can include

Answer engine optimization (AEO) means making your website the clearest, most trustworthy answer to the questions people type into Google and other search tools. Softscotch finds the questions that affect whether someone buys, picks one page to answer each one, improves the answer and the proof behind it, puts the agreed changes live and checks what people and search engines can actually use. You get a list of all your answers, a plan of changes in priority order, checks on the live pages and a list of updates that someone owns.

Eight areas of work take you from a check of your current questions and pages, through writing answers, adding proof, using the settings search engines actually support and checking live pages, to a writing guide for your team and an ongoing list for tracking and updates with a named owner. Wider SEO and AI search work are quoted separately.

Where answers appear today, and the chances to improve

We list the featured snippets, People Also Ask results, ordinary search listings and the rich result types Google still supports that we see for each search term, page, device, country or language and date.

Question groups and one page per question

We group buyer questions by type: definitions, how-to, comparisons, who qualifies, calculations, troubleshooting, local, product details, policies and objections. Then we give each one a single, official page to answer it.

Designing and rewriting answers

The most important answers get a direct reply, the conditions they need, supporting context, proof and a link to more detail, without cutting complex topics into random snippets.

Proof, expert review and keeping answers current

Important claims get a nearby source, a named expert review where needed, dates, the country or product version they apply to, triggers for when they expire and an owner who keeps the answer accurate.

Layout, easy reading and section checks

We choose paragraphs, lists, tables, formulas, decision guides or video and images to suit the question, then check the page structure, how easy it is to read on a phone and that each section makes sense on its own.

Review of website labels and search preview settings

We only use structured data (hidden labels that describe a page to search engines) for page types Google supports and content people can actually see. Where you need to control what Google shows in a preview, or keep sensitive text out of it, we also review the settings that do this: nosnippet, data-nosnippet and max-snippet.

Tracking, re-checks and the link to sales

Which answers we see you shown for, Search Console trends, how people use your answers, the steps they take and the sales or leads that follow all feed a regular list of checks and updates, with the limits of the tracking clearly stated.

Answer writing guide for your team

We give your writers a simple guide for answering new questions the same way: the format to use, the proof each answer needs, who reviews it and when to update it. Then we walk your team through it so new pages meet the same standard.

Why Softscotch

Make your answers more useful, without pretending we control what Google shows

Google chooses which page appears as a featured snippet (the answer box at the top of some results) and can change it at any time. Our job is to make your answers clearer, better backed up, eligible for search features, owned by a named person and properly measured, then show you what we saw without turning it into a guarantee.

Choosing one page per question comes before writing more content

We decide which web page should answer each buyer question, then fix clashes and gaps before publishing yet another article that overlaps.

The format fits what the reader needs to know

A comparison gets clear points of comparison, a how-to gets numbered steps and what you need first, and a calculation gets units, assumptions and a worked example.

Short answers keep the facts that make them true

We keep important conditions, dates, locations, definitions and limits close enough that a quoted passage doesn't end up saying the opposite of what you meant.

Google's own rules replace schema myths

We check eligibility against Google's current documentation and what the page really is. Adding labels is never treated as a promise that you'll get a special search result or be shown as the answer.

Every change is tested on the live page

After publishing, we check what the page really shows, its heading structure, hidden labels, preview settings, phone layout, links between pages and tracking.

Showing up is tied to useful action

We keep people who get their answer without clicking separate from visits, journeys we helped along, sales and good-quality leads, so your team can improve real value instead of chasing appearances.

Service decisions

The 36 parts of answer engine optimization that make answers useful and trustworthy

The work goes far beyond question keywords. It covers which page owns each answer, spotting answers that contradict each other, choosing the right format, sources for claims, settings that control search previews, easy reading for everyone, regular checks, reasons to update and the link from an answer someone reads in Google without clicking (a zero-click answer) to a useful action for your business.

Where answers appear today
List of featured snippetsRecord the search term, answer format, source page, the quoted text, device, country or language and the date we saw it.
Watching People Also AskMap the follow-up questions that keep appearing and the pages shown for them, while treating the list as something that changes often rather than a fixed keyword list.
Matching ordinary search listingsCompare page titles, descriptions and visible text with what the searcher wants and the answer the page actually gives.
Which rich results you can still qualify forOnly check the special result types Google currently documents that match the page, its content and your business.
Starting point for searches and pagesJoin up how often you appear, clicks, typical position and what visitors do on the page for your most important answers.
Proof of what we sawKeep dated screenshots or records of results, without claiming that one moment in search means you own that answer for good.
Map of questions and what people want
Groups of buyer questionsSeparate definitions, steps, comparisons, who qualifies, calculations, troubleshooting, product details, policies and objections.
Map of follow-up questions and conditionsNote the extra details a buyer adds after the first answer, such as location, budget, product version, who it's for or risk.
Matching each question to one pagePick one official page for each important answer, then decide which supporting pages sit around it and link to it.
Review of clashing and competing pagesFind answers that repeat, contradict each other or have no links pointing to them, before creating another page.
How each answer is built
Direct answer firstAnswer the question early on the page, using the words and the level of detail the reader actually needs.
Building up the detailMove from the direct answer into explanation, proof, exceptions and deeper detail, in an order that makes sense to the reader.
Keeping the conditions with the answerKeep units, dates, product versions, locations, who it applies to and other conditions right next to the claim they belong to.
Link to the next detailOffer the next useful comparison, method, calculator, source or action without interrupting the answer. Keep linked sections visible when the page opens, and keep the section web addresses (the part after the # sign) stable so links to them keep working.
Choosing the format
Definitions and paragraph answersUse short, plain text when a term, fact or recommendation can be answered without steps or a table.
Numbered steps and checklistsFor how-to questions, show what you need first, the order of steps, the choices along the way and how you know you're done.
Comparison tablesUse clear points of comparison, the same units throughout and meaningful row headings, rather than tables that only look nice.
Calculators, decision guides and mediaUse formulas, tools, diagrams, images or video when text alone can't explain the task safely or quickly enough for the reader.
Proof and trust
Keeping sources next to claimsPlace the original source, method or supporting record close to the claim it backs up.
First-hand proofAdd your own examples, tests, data, screenshots or real working experience where they help the reader decide.
Expert reviewFor topics where accuracy really matters, name the reviewer, their relevant qualification and the review date.
Keeping it current and localShow when a fact applies, where it applies and what event should trigger its next review.
Website labels and search preview settings
Checking label types Google supportsCheck that each structured data type is documented by Google, that the page qualifies and that it describes the main content people can see.
The truth about FAQ and HowToNever sell FAQ or HowTo rich results as a current Google Search opportunity, because Google no longer shows either of them.
When QAPage labels qualifyOnly use QAPage labels for a page about a single question where users can post their own answers, not for FAQs or articles you write yourself.
Rules for preview settingsUse nosnippet, data-nosnippet and max-snippet (settings that stop or limit the text Google shows in a preview) on purpose, to manage what's shown, protect sensitive text and keep previews useful.
Page setup and checks
Clear page sectionsWrite sections that make sense on their own, with headings that describe them, without claiming that Google's passage ranking is a separate trick to optimize for.
Clean page code and accessibilityUse real headings, lists, table headers, labels and reading order so answers work on every device and with tools such as screen readers.
Links between your answersConnect overview, detail, comparison, glossary, tool and support pages based on the reader's likely next question.
Merging duplicatesMerge overlapping answers or make them clearly different, and send visitors from retired pages to the right new page (a redirect) where it makes sense.
Checking changes on the live siteCheck how the page displays, phone layout, links, preview settings, hidden labels, tracking and that links straight to a section land in the right place. Avoid scripts that force the page to scroll somewhere else when it loads or that strip the section part of the web address.
Measuring and updating
Record of where we saw you as the answerTrack snippets and other answer spots with the search term, source page, format, context and date attached.
Search Console reportReview how often each search term and page appears, clicks and what visitors do next, without making up People Also Ask numbers that Google doesn't provide.
Engagement and salesMeasure opened answers, scrolling, tool use, clicks to the next step, leads and good-quality results where tracking allows.
Re-checking answersRecheck the most important answers after changes to content, products, policies, page templates or search platforms.
Who updates out-of-date answersSend out-of-date proof, changed rules and clashing answers to a named owner with an agreed response time.
Research and implementation tools

Each AEO tool is used only for what it can actually show

We combine live checks of search results, Google Search Console (Google's free report on how your site appears in search), analytics (visitor tracking), lists of your content, site-scanning tools, code checkers, accessibility checks and sales or lead data. Every check keeps a record of the search term, date, device and location.

Look under the hood

Our AEO audit: seven reviews that turn answer gaps into a plan of changes in priority order

Each tab shows the checks behind what we deliver. The result is a priority list of changes, each with an owner, the sources it needs, how we'll check it works and what should trigger an update.

Check 01 · See what can actually be seen in search

Where answers appear today, and the chances to improve

We build a dated starting point showing the answer spots we can actually see in search for your most important questions and pages.

Google decides whether a page becomes a featured snippet. The starting point shows opportunities and limits; it doesn't turn a result that changes often into something you're guaranteed to keep.

Featured snippets watchSource page, format, quoted text, device, country or language and date recorded.
People Also Ask sampleRepeated follow-up questions and which sites are shown, mapped as a sample.
Ordinary listings reviewWhether the title, description and visible answer match each other, reviewed.
Rich result eligibility verifyOnly special result types Google supports that fit the real page are considered.
Search and page data startSearch Console views in results, clicks and landing pages joined together where available.
Search result proof saveScreenshots and result records keep the details of when and how they were taken.
Check 02 · Give every question one home

Question groups and one page per question

We map how buyers ask, narrow down and push back on a question, then give each answer to the page best able to handle it.

The result shows what to improve, merge, make clearly different, redirect or leave unanswered until your business has reliable proof.

Type of question mapDefinitions, how-to steps, comparisons, who qualifies, calculations and other question types kept separate.
Buying stage journeyQuestions from discovering, checking, choosing, using and getting support told apart.
Conditions contextDetails about location, audience, version, budget and risk kept with each question.
Official page ownerOne main web page chosen for each important answer.
Spotting clashes urgentClaims that contradict each other and pages that compete brought to light.
Content decision actionDecision to keep, merge, rewrite, create or retire each page recorded.
Check 03 · Decide what each answer must include

How each answer is built, and whether it's complete

We check whether a useful passage can answer the question without losing the condition that makes the answer accurate.

There is no fixed answer length. The aim is the shortest complete answer for what the reader needs to know, followed by the context a careful reader wants.

Direct answer clarityThe answer appears early and replies to the question that was actually asked.
Must-have conditions accuracyUnits, dates, versions, audience and location stay with the claim.
Building up the detail structureExplanation, proof, exceptions and detail follow in a logical order.
Consistent terms consistencyThe page doesn't switch what it's talking about, its definitions or how it measures things partway through an answer.
Next question journeyThe likely follow-up question has a useful link, without pulling the reader away from the current answer.
Risk of being quoted out of context riskPassages that become misleading when quoted on their own are rewritten or protected from being shown in previews.
Check 04 · Prove the answer and keep it current

Proof, expertise and keeping answers up to date

We link important statements to the source, method, reviewer and date that let you stand behind them.

Claims with no reliable proof get conditions added, are replaced or are removed. The goal isn't to decorate text with links to sources, but to keep the source, the date and the conditions where the claim applies.

Original source proveThe strongest available source is linked close to the claim.
Showing the method methodWho was sampled, assumptions and test conditions are shown where they matter.
Expert owner ownerAnswers where accuracy really matters get a named review and approval.
Up-to-date signal dateThe date published, date reviewed and date of the source are kept apart.
Where it applies scopeThe country or state, product version and audience the answer applies to are stated clearly.
Update trigger refreshA change to a rule, price, rate, product or policy sends the answer back for review.
Check 05 · Match the format to the question

Format, page structure and easy reading for all

We choose the answer layout that makes links between ideas, the order of steps and choices easiest to understand on computers, phones and tools such as screen readers.

A clear structure can help search engines find the answer and help people understand it, but it isn't a hidden ranking switch or a reason to chop good content into pieces.

Right format formatParagraph, list, table, formula, tool or media chosen to suit what the reader needs to know.
Logical headings structureEach section clearly states the question or decision, without repeating the same keyword-stuffed headings.
Proper lists codeSteps, what you need first and how you know you're done stay easy to tell apart.
Proper tables accessHeaders, units, points of comparison and how the table looks on phones are all usable.
Images and video mediaImages and video add real information, with captions, transcripts or an explanation next to them.
Reading order checksThe answer still makes sense if styling, scripts and extra features fail to load.
Check 06 · Use only settings that really work

Which website labels and preview settings qualify

We compare the live page with Google's current documentation before recommending hidden labels or settings that control what can appear in a search preview.

Since May 7, 2026, FAQ rich results no longer appear in Google Search. Google retired HowTo rich results earlier, in 2023. Neither should be sold as a current way to win Google results.

Matches the page type requiredLabels describe the main content people can see and a use that Google supports.
The truth about FAQ currentFAQ content can still help readers, but we promise no benefit from Google FAQ rich results.
The truth about HowTo currentGoogle's retired HowTo rich results are taken out of forecasts and sales claims.
QAPage limits qualifyOnly real single-question pages where users post their own answers qualify.
Speakable limits betaThis test feature, built for news content, is not presented as a general shortcut to voice search.
Preview settings controlDecisions on nosnippet, data-nosnippet and max-snippet are written down and tested.
Check 07 · Link what we see to real actions

Measurement, sales and re-checks

We track how answers perform as a set of dated checks and real customer actions, then use what isn't working to decide the next changes.

Search Console has no reliable, all-in-one number for People Also Ask or featured snippets. Checks from outside tools are labeled as samples and kept separate from Google's own data.

Record of answer spots watchThe answer spot we saw, search term, source page, format and date kept on record.
Search performance Google dataHow often each search term and page appears, clicks and landing page trends reviewed.
How people use answers behaviorOpened answers, scrolling, tool use and clicks to more detail measured where useful.
Link to sales resultGood-quality actions and journeys we helped along kept separate from simple clicks.
Re-check list checksThe most important answers tested again after changes go live and after facts change.
Decision log actionEach finding becomes a decision to keep, fix, test or retire, with an owner.
What changes

What changes after the first answer engine optimization cycle

Before

The first view shows which important questions have no clear page to answer them, where answers are buried or clash, what proof is missing and what current search samples actually show.

  • Questions without a pageImportant customer questions are matched to the pages that answer, repeat, contradict or miss them.
  • Gaps in answers and formatDefinitions, how-to steps, comparisons and who-qualifies questions are checked for buried answers, missing conditions and the wrong format.
  • Proof and what we saw in searchSources, reviewers, dates and conditions are checked next to important statements, while our records of where answers appear keep the search term, device, country or language and date.
Changes

The most important questions each have one page, a complete and useful answer, reliable proof, the right search settings, live checks and an agreed way to measure them.

  • Official pages agreedImportant questions, extra conditions, official pages and decisions to merge pages are written down and approved.
  • Complete answers go liveDirect answers keep the conditions, proof, context and useful next step they need, right there on the live page.
  • Changes checkedHow the page displays, its structure, accessibility, eligible labels, preview settings, links and tracking are checked on the final live page.
After

Dated checks, how people use your answers, good-quality customer actions and changes to the facts guide a list of updates that someone owns.

  • Dated answer checksThe most important answers are checked again after changes go live, policies change or major updates happen, with the search term, page, device, country or language and date recorded.
  • Update list with an ownerWhen something expires or facts clash, the affected answer and source go to a named reviewer within the agreed response time.
  • Learning from customer journeysWhere you were seen, how answers were used, clicks to more detail and good-quality actions shape the next set of approved answer changes.
Your type of business

The right way to build an answer changes with the decision your customer is making and how risky it is.

A product specification, a medical explanation, a question about whether a local service covers your area and a software comparison each need different conditions, proof, formats and approval rules. Our method stays the same, while what each answer must include changes.

Local

Local businesses and businesses with several locations

What you offer, the area you cover, hours, who qualifies and proof for each location must answer the exact local question, without mixing up different branches.

FocusMedical review, sources next to claims, when a treatment is not suitable, keeping it current
MeasureAccurate health information, suitable appointments, less misinformation
Regulated

Finance, insurance and legal

Who qualifies, rates, exclusions, duties and the country or state can change the answer a lot, so conditions and approval records are never optional.

FocusCountry or state rules, start dates, original sources, rules review
MeasureBeing seen while following the rules, good-quality inquiries, fewer mistakes
Education

Education and training

Entry requirements, accreditation, whether a course is a good fit, fees, results and deadlines need a clear owner and answers that show which dates they apply to.

FocusProgram facts, comparisons, deadlines, proof from the institution
MeasureGood-quality inquiries, applications, accurate answers
Support

Help centers and customer support

Troubleshooting answers need what to check first, the product version, choices in the right order, what failure looks like and a clear way to get more help.

The connected growth engine

On-page SEO

Page titles, what the whole page is about and how your site is linked together help the right answer page compete in search.

AI SEO and GEO

GEO (generative engine optimization) is about being found and mentioned by AI tools. That wider work on how AI tools find your content, how your business is described, product feeds, mentions on other sites and visibility across many platforms goes beyond AEO.

Content strategy

Your own research and expert input create answers that generic summaries can't replace.

Schema and web development

Eligible labels, reusable page building blocks, tools and template rules make the whole system easy to repeat.

CRO and UX

CRO (conversion rate optimization: changing pages so more visitors get in touch) and UX (how easy your site is to use) make sure a useful answer leads into the next detail, tool, comparison or customer action.

Analytics and CRM

Where you're seen and how people use your answers are linked to good-quality business results in your customer database (CRM).

One connected scope. Answer Engine Optimization is coordinated with the strategy, creative, experience, data and reporting it depends on, so responsibilities and handoffs stay visible in one written plan.

What to expect

From checking your questions to the first changes and the first useful report

A full list of your answers and a priority plan usually take one to two weeks once we have your content, search data and expert input. The first improvements often reach a test site or go live in weeks three to six. Google needs time to process changes, and where you appear and what customers do afterwards take longer still, so we can't guarantee them.

Answer engine optimization, first round of work

Weeks 1–2

Starting point for questions and answers

Once we have your main countries or regions, questions, content access, search data and expert input, we record which page answers each question, gaps in answers, what sources are needed and dated checks of current search results.

Plan for the most important answers

Choose the official page for each answer, find pages that repeat or contradict each other and agree which questions, facts and formats go into the first round of changes.

KPI First round approved
Weeks 3–6

Main answers go live

Write and publish the approved definitions, how-to steps, comparisons, who-qualifies answers or tools, with their conditions, sources and the search settings Google supports.

Our full growth plan (all services together), month by month

Month 1

Foundation and review

We review your whole website, where you rank and your competitors, agree how the site should be organized, and set up hosting, analytics (visitor tracking) and your GoHighLevel lead system. The first agreed pages start going live.

KPI pages live
Month 2

Build and launch

The site is built or rebuilt. Main, service and industry pages go live with on-page SEO, website labels and technical fixes. Your Google Business Profile is improved and lead follow-up automations are switched on.

KPI pages in Google
Month 3

Early rankings, paid ads start

More pages built from templates (programmatic pages) start going live, paid ads and email follow-ups are switched on for early leads, and Google adds your pages to its results as the first rankings usually appear.

KPI search terms ranking
Month 4

Momentum builds

Rankings often start climbing, visits from free search begin to rise, ad spending is tuned to the return it brings (ROAS, return on ad spend), and groups of related articles and links from other sites build your reputation with Google.

KPI visits from search
Month 5

Results start to show

Main search terms can move closer to page one, the first leads from free search often arrive, AI tools may begin to mention you, and testing improvements to your pages (CRO, conversion rate optimization) helps more visitors get in touch.

KPI leads from search
Month 6

Growth builds on itself

Pages that are working are protected and improved, template pages bring in visitors searching for very specific terms, and SEO, ads, email and automation work together to bring steadier leads and sales. Timing varies by market and competition, and no ranking is guaranteed.

KPI leads and sales
How we compare

Real answers on your site and honest tracking, not snippet tricks

The difference is a clear, written link between buyer questions, the page that owns each answer, answer quality, proof, search settings, the work done, where you were seen and the actions that matter to your business.

The risk of using a different agency for everything
  • Treats AEO as adding an FAQ section to every page
  • Promises featured snippets or People Also Ask spots
  • Uses one fixed word count for every answer
  • Creates a new page for every slight change in wording
  • Calls headings and short paragraphs a secret ranking hack
  • Sells FAQ and HowTo rich results using out-of-date advice

Ethical, transparent, always on

One accountable team, strictly white-hat (only methods search engines and platforms allow), no shortcuts and no surprises. Support whenever you need it.

One plan, full-stack access

One Softscotch plan gives you access to the full service stack, coordinated around your priorities.

You do not need a separate agency or retainer for every channel. Your plan can draw from search, paid media, web, ecommerce, outreach, automation, lead generation, messaging, content, creative and operations. The agreed scope sets what is active, in what order and at what capacity.

Pricing approach

One price for everything, not a stack of separate retainers.

You get one price for your whole marketing, not a separate retainer for every service. SEO, paid ads, your website, automations, cold email and newsletters, we run all of it as a single scope, so you get the most result for what you pay. Agencies sell each of these on its own, so the invoice climbs whether or not that line drives a single lead.

Bought separately, service by service

A different agency or retainer for each service. The bill stacks up fast, and keeps climbing whether or not each one moves a single lead.

All of it, one scope

We run your whole marketing as one engagement, so you get the most result for what you pay, not a pile of disconnected invoices.

Questions, answered

Questions to ask before answer engine optimization begins

These answers cover featured snippets (Google's answer boxes), People Also Ask (the list of related questions in Google), answer length, recent changes to FAQ and HowTo results, when QAPage and Speakable labels apply, clear page sections, search preview settings, measurement and contract terms.

What is answer engine optimization (AEO)?

Answer engine optimization is the work of making it easy for people and search engines to find an accurate answer to important questions on the right page of your site. It includes question research, choosing one page per question, how the answer is built, choosing the format, proof, keeping answers current, clean page code, eligible structured data (hidden labels for search engines), search preview settings, checks on the live page and measurement. It does not give any agency control over which answer a search engine chooses to show.

How is AEO different from SEO and GEO?

AEO focuses on the link between a question and its answer: which page owns the answer, how it's built, what proof it needs and how its usefulness is measured. On-page SEO (search engine optimization) covers the whole page, including titles, what the page is about overall and how your site links together. AI SEO and GEO (generative engine optimization, for AI tools) cover how AI tools find your content, rules for the bots that read your site, how your business is described, product feeds, mentions on other sites, citations and visibility across many platforms.

Can you guarantee a featured snippet or People Also Ask result?

No. Google says its own systems decide whether a page is a good choice for a featured snippet. Results change by search term, context, device, location and time. We can make your answers clearer, more eligible, better backed up and higher quality, then record the changes we see, without guaranteeing a placement.

What is the best word count for a direct answer?

There is no single right length. A definition may need one short paragraph, a question about who qualifies may need a list of conditions, and a comparison may need a table. We aim for the shortest complete answer that keeps every important condition, then add supporting detail below it.

Does FAQ schema still create Google FAQ rich results?

No. Google Search stopped showing FAQ rich results on May 7, 2026. FAQ content can still help readers when the questions are genuinely useful, and the standard FAQ labels may still be read by other tools, but we don't forecast any benefit from Google FAQ rich results.

Should we use HowTo structured data?

Not to chase a Google HowTo rich result. Google retired HowTo rich results in 2023. Clear step-by-step content can still be very useful for people, and any labels that are still supported should be judged on what Google documents today, not on a search feature that no longer exists.

When is QAPage structured data the right choice?

Google says QAPage labels are for a page about one question where users can post their own answers, like a forum thread. They are not meant for an FAQ page you write yourself, a blog post that answers a common question, a product page with many questions or a general how-to guide.

Does Speakable markup make every page better for voice search?

No. Google's Speakable documentation describes a test (beta) feature for topical news content, read aloud by Google Assistant on smart speakers, and it is limited to US users with English-language devices. We don't add it to ordinary service or online store pages as a general voice-search shortcut.

Is passage optimization a separate ranking technique?

Google describes passage ranking as a system that spots the relevant sections of a page, not as a separate index or a special labeling program. We improve headings, how well each section holds together and whether it includes the needed context, because that helps readers and search engines, not because there is a secret passage switch.

How do you choose between a paragraph, list, table or tool?

The format follows what the reader needs to know. Definitions and short facts often work as plain text, processes need numbered steps and what you need first, comparisons need the same points of comparison throughout, and calculations or complex choices may need formulas, calculators or decision guides. Accessibility and how well it works on phones are part of the decision.

Can we control which text Google uses in a snippet?

Not exactly. Google can build snippets from any page content and may choose different text for different searches. The nosnippet setting can stop text previews, data-nosnippet can hide chosen parts of a page from previews and max-snippet can limit their length, but none of them lets you pick the exact text. For the "Read more" links Google sometimes adds that jump to a section of your page, Google recommends keeping that section visible as soon as the page opens, keeping the section part of the web address (after the # sign) and avoiding scripts that force the page to scroll somewhere else.

What do you change first?

We start with high-value questions that have no page answering them, pages that clash, answers that are buried or risky, missing proof, out-of-date facts or a broken next step. We then put changes in order by how much they matter to buyers, the risk, the effort to make them and the quality of the proof available.

Do you make the changes, or just recommend them?

Yes, we make them, within the agreed scope. We rewrite answers, merge pages or make them clearly different, improve the page structure, add eligible labels and settings, set up tracking and check the live changes. Any steps that need your developer, legal reviewer or product owner are named and coordinated by us.

How do you measure AEO results?

We keep Google's own data, sample checks and business results separate. Reporting can include Search Console trends for search terms and pages, dated checks of featured snippets or People Also Ask, how people use your answers, use of tools or next steps, sales or leads and good-quality results from your customer database (CRM). The limits of tracking and sampling are always shown.

Is a zero-click answer valuable?

A zero-click answer is when someone gets what they need from Google without visiting your site. It can be valuable if it answers the right question accurately, builds trust or supports a later decision. It can also reduce visits without bringing in any business. So we decide which answers should be complete right in the search result, and where a page, tool, comparison or consultation offers a truly useful next step.

How long does AEO take to show changes?

The first twelve weeks are planned to decide which page answers each question, put the most important answer improvements live and produce the first report you can rely on. What shows up in search can change after Google re-reads your pages, while building your reputation, changes in demand and competitor moves can take longer. The plan is an order of work, not a deadline for placements.

How much do answer engine optimization services cost?

Pricing reflects the number of countries or regions, page templates and important questions, how much rewriting and merging is needed, proof and expert review, web development work, schema and tracking setup, and how often answers need updating. Our audit sets the scope before the fee is agreed.

Is there a long-term contract?

Your signed proposal or agreement sets out the length of the contract, notice period, renewal, payment and how to end it. Please don't assume any contract terms from this page.
