On-page SEO Services

Turn your most important pages into clear, believable answers that buyers can act on.

We'll reply with a written proposal: the work, what we need from you and an estimated timeline.

The hidden problems on your pages

A page can use the right keyword and still not help the customer decide anything.

On-page work fails when what the searcher wants, your facts, the page layout, your proof, your links and the next step are all improved separately. We start by giving one useful job to one main page.

  • Several of your pages compete for the same search

Service, category, guide and location pages use overlapping words, but nobody has decided which customer decision each one serves or which one is the main page for it.

  • What searchers want is judged from one snapshot

Search results that are mixed or keep changing get turned into a fixed plan, without noting the country, device, type of content, unclear meaning or how close the buyer is to buying.

  • Titles and previews are treated like ad copy you control

The page title, the main heading on the page and the meta description (the short summary you write for Google) are written to a formula, even though Google can use other text from the page and from links, and changes the preview for each search.

  • The content sounds complete but proves very little

Generic summaries repeat what competitors say, while real methods, examples, named authors, source facts, honest limits and customer proof are missing or not yet approved.

  • Headings, links and buttons are built to please an audit tool

The page is built around covering keywords and hitting link counts, instead of showing how ideas connect, making it easy for everyone to move around and offering a useful next step for the customer.

  • Reports give one change credit for normal ups and downs

One edit gets the credit for a change in ranking or inquiries, without allowing for the limits of Search Console data, changes in demand, other updates to the site, how Google shows results, how analytics counts things and the quality of the leads.

Scope

What our on-page SEO services cover.

On-page SEO (search engine optimization done on the page itself) makes each of your important pages the clear answer to one real customer need. We bring together what people actually search for, what Google currently shows, your page titles, headings, the people, products and places the page is about, links between your pages, real proof, images, suitable hidden labels for Google and the steps to contact or buy. Then we check the live page and measure both search results and real business results. We don't promise a ranking position, how your page will look in Google or a mention in AI answers.

The first eight cards describe this service. Your proposal picks the pages, proof, hands-on changes, approvals and measurement. The last two cards are related services with their own separate scope.

Page purpose, audience and which page is the main one

Before we edit anything, we set out the real customer need, the search problem, the type of page, its value to your business, the action that counts as a good lead and which page should be the main one for it.

What people search for and what Google shows today

We keep the original search terms, how confident we are in how they are grouped, the unclear cases, dated snapshots of Google results, how close the buyer is to buying and chances to win more searches with each page.

Titles, search previews and a clear page layout

We make the page title, main heading, description, opening lines, headings, lists, tables and preview settings all match the page's real purpose.

#1

Original proof, key facts and images

We add approved methods, examples, real authors, facts, how your products, people and places connect, images and accessibility details, instead of made-up authority.

Links between your pages and the customer's next step

We add links within your content that Google can follow, to and from the page, and match the action we ask for (call, book, buy) to how ready the reader is and to your real offer.

Hidden labels, accessibility and checks before and after going live

We add supported structured data (hidden labels that tell Google what the page is about) that matches what visitors see, clean page code, fixes for phones and tablets, and live checks on computer and mobile.

Measuring each page, updates and upkeep

We keep the work we delivered, how Google shows the page, Search Console data, what visitors do on the site and good-quality leads apart, and set clear triggers for when a page needs updating.

Comparing your page with the pages that rank

We review the pages Google currently shows for each important search and note the questions, details and proof they cover that your page misses. Then we fill the real gaps with your own knowledge and evidence, rather than copying what competitors say.

Why Softscotch

We turn what people search for into accurate pages they can actually use.

Every recommendation keeps its source, the person in charge of the page, the customer decision it supports, the facts it depends on, a check that it was done right and the limits of what we can measure. That stops keyword-driven edits from hurting trust or the number of people who get in touch.

Each page gets one job and one person in charge

We sort out pages that overlap and decide whether each one should support another page, be merged or be retired before adding more content.

Unclear cases stay visible

Where the search terms came from, how they were grouped, what Google showed, how sure we are and any exceptions stay attached to every decision about what searchers want.

Proof matters more than length

We focus on accurate methods, examples, comparisons and decisions backed by sources, not on word count or copying what other pages cover.

We're honest about how Google shows your page

Titles, descriptions, featured snippets (the answer box at the top of some results), rich results (results with extra details like stars or prices) and AI answers are chosen automatically by Google. We report what we see, and never claim we control where they appear.

Accessibility and getting in touch are part of the page

Headings, labels, images, links, the order of content on phones and the next steps are tested with real people in mind, not just for search engines.

Every number keeps its limits

Before we claim any result, we make clear that Search Console hides some searches for privacy and groups data under the main version of each page, that analytics depends on visitors agreeing to tracking, and how leads are judged for quality later on.

Basic to advanced

The 36 parts of a complete on-page SEO program.

These 36 parts cover the page's purpose, search data, how information is organized, writing and building, safety checks, testing, measurement and upkeep. Advanced work, such as checking how AI tools pull facts from your page or running formal tests, is only added when it makes sense.

Strategy, searches and starting point
Tracking changes in what searchers wantNote by date, country and device when the meaning of a search, the type of result, the type of page or the buyer's stage changes, so the right page stays matched to the real need.
Page purpose and starting resultsWrite down the audience, the customer's need, what the page promises, what counts as a good lead, how it performs now, any limits and who is responsible for each source of facts.
One main page for each search needGive each different customer and search need one main page, and decide which other pages should support it, be merged into it or be retired.
Watching Google results and competitor pagesSave dated records of the types of results Google shows and the useful choices competitors make, without assuming that copying today's top pages will make you rank.
Choosing the right type of pagePick a service page, category, product, comparison, guide, tool or other format that genuinely helps the customer make the decision they are facing.
Ranking pages by opportunityDecide which pages to work on first using demand, how visible the page is today, how many more clicks it could win, lead quality, effort, available proof, risk and fit with your business.
Information and inputs
How sure we are about search groupsKeep the original search terms, how they were grouped, what Google showed and the unclear cases visible, instead of treating a tool's automatic grouping as the truth.
Search Console data by page and searchSplit page and search data into useful groups, while noting that Search Console hides some searches for privacy, shows only part of the data, groups it under the main page version and has filter and date limits.
Customer words and source materialUse sales notes, support questions, site searches, interviews and documents you allow us to use, while protecting personal data and respecting who owns the material.
Record of claims, facts and approvalsTrace prices, features, comparisons, qualifications, dates and regulated statements back to trusted sources, the people responsible and the date they expire.
Structure and setup
Map of topics the page should coverMap the people, products, features, comparisons and follow-up questions to this page or to a linked page that covers them, without repeating keyword-stuffed sections.
Page layout and headingsArrange clear, logical headings, sections, labels, tables and lists around the customer's decision, built so that browsers and screen readers understand how they connect.
Links between pages and the customer pathConnect useful pages to each other with links inside the text that Google can follow, and give the reader a sensible next step.
Pages competing with each other, merging and retiringTell real competition between your own pages (sometimes called cannibalization) apart from pages that work well together, then decide with evidence whether to keep, change, merge, redirect or retire each one.
Making the changes
Matching the page title and the main headingWrite a unique, accurate title for Google and a clear, prominent main heading on the page, with no keyword stuffing, no copy-paste text and no promise about how much of it Google will show.
Search previews and meta descriptionsWrite useful, unique page summaries and clear passages on the page, knowing that Google creates the preview text automatically for each search.
Original proof and real experiencePublish approved methods, examples, demonstrations, honest limits and first-hand material that a generic summary can't copy.
Images, media and image descriptionsUse licensed images that help the decision, load them in the standard way Google can read, place them near related text and give them helpful descriptions (alt text) or mark them as decorative.
Safety checks
Finding pages that contradict each otherFind pages that disagree on facts, definitions or what search they are meant to answer before merging them or expanding the topic.
Showing who wrote and checked the pageName the real writers, reviewers, methods, sources and the dates of important updates where readers would reasonably expect to see them.
Hidden labels that match the pageUse only structured data that Google supports and that applies to the page, describes what visitors can see on the main version of the page and makes it eligible for extra features, with no promise that they will show.
Easy reading, headings and labels for everyoneKeep a clear structure, descriptive labels, keyboard access, a sensible reading order and content that follows WCAG (the standard accessibility guidelines for websites).
Testing and improving
Updates that add something newImprove pages with new proof, examples and decisions, rather than just changing the date or adding more words.
Writing answers, lists and comparisonsFormat real questions, step-by-step processes and comparisons so people understand them easily, without claiming they will win a featured snippet.
Checking facts still make sense when quoted aloneTest whether key facts still keep their subject, conditions, date and limits when a search engine or AI tool pulls them out of the full page.
Careful testing of page changesWrite down the planned change and the safety limits before testing, and only run a group or controlled test when traffic, risk and the ability to isolate the change make the result trustworthy.
Measuring results and value
Watching how Google shows your pageRecord the titles, previews and special result features Google shows, by search, date and device, without suggesting that any of it is something we control.
Measuring from search to customerKeep Search Console data, what visitors do on the site, completed actions and good-quality leads apart, each with its own definition.
How easy the next step isTest whether readers understand the offer, the proof, the limits and the right next step for their stage, on the devices we chose to test.
Checking changes on the live siteCheck that the approved text, title, structure, links, images, hidden labels, tracking and buttons all work on the real, live page.
Opportunity versus effort summaryCompare the searches affected and the value of good leads with the cost of gathering proof, design or development effort, risk and the work to keep the page up to date.
Rules, upkeep and growth
Page owners, upkeep and a decision logName who is in charge of the facts, writing, technical side and results, and keep the research, approvals, changes, observations and next decisions on record.
Going live, exceptions and undoing changesAgree before any change goes live what "done" looks like, what counts as a serious fault, which exceptions are accepted, who owns them, when they expire and how to undo the change.
Fact expiry dates and update triggersReview pages when your offers, products, policies, people, regulations, proof or the meaning of a search change in an important way.
Privacy, usage rights and keeping sourcesProtect customer data, image rights, licensed research, expert approvals and the proof you need to defend what the page claims.
Agreed upkeep and response timesSet which pages are reviewed, how serious each issue is, who responds and when to escalate, for contradictions, out-of-date facts, broken buttons and big changes in search.
Research and implementation tools

On-page SEO tools and data we use, and what each one really shows

Google search results, Search Console (Google's free tool that shows how your site does in search), website analytics, customer feedback, page lists, how the page looks in a browser, accessibility checks and hidden-label checkers each answer a different question. We don't blend them into one made-up "page score".

Look inside the page

Our on-page SEO audit: seven checks that link each search to a real customer result.

Each check shows what we found, what we decided for the page, who will make the change and how we will confirm it works on the live site. Google stays in control of how titles and previews appear, whether a page is included in its results, how it looks and where it ranks.

Check 01 · Give the page its job

Purpose, audience and who owns the page

We decide who the page helps, which problem it is the main answer for, and which nearby pages support it, compete with it or should change.

A slightly different keyword is not a reason to make a new page. A page earns its own place when it serves a different customer decision, adds real value and holds facts your business can keep up to date.

Audience audienceIntended reader, their situation, language and buying stage defined.
Customer need jobThe question, comparison, task or buying decision made clear.
Page type formatService, category, product, guide, comparison or other useful format chosen.
Main page ownOne main (canonical) page given to each separate customer need.
Nearby pages resolveEach one marked to support, be changed, be merged, be redirected or be retired.
Result measureThe next useful action and how leads are judged for quality later defined.
Check 02 · Confirm what people really search for

Search needs, groups of search terms and what Google shows

We keep a record of where search terms came from, how they were grouped and when Google's results change in meaning or format.

Search results change with time, location, device and each person's history. Snapshots help us decide, but they don't prove why another page ranks or what every searcher wants.

Search term sources sourceSearch Console, research tools and your own customer words kept apart.
Grouping confidence groupHow terms were grouped, where they overlap and unclear cases reviewed.
What Google shows observeTypes of pages, special features and meanings recorded by date and country.
Changes over time trackChanges in meaning, format and buyer stage saved as dated versions.
Competitors compareSites you compete with in search kept apart from real business rivals and reference sites.
Opportunity decideDemand, possible extra clicks, value, effort and available proof decide what comes first.
Check 03 · Shape what Google can show

Titles, descriptions and page text that works well in search previews

We make the page title, the main heading people see, the opening and the page summary match the page's true purpose, and review the current preview settings.

Google creates the title shown in results and the preview text automatically for each search, and can use your headings, prominent text and links. We improve what Google has to work with, but we can't guarantee the text it shows.

Page title titleUnique, short, accurate and up-to-date title text checked.
Main heading headingOne main heading that is clear to both people and browsers confirmed.
Language languageTitle, headings and main page text all in the same language and script.
Description describeA unique, useful page summary written, with no promise about how Google will show it.
Page passages answerDefinitions, comparisons, lists and answers still make sense where they sit on the page.
Preview settings controlSettings that hide a page or limit its preview (noindex, nosnippet, max-snippet, data-nosnippet) checked against what you want.
Check 04 · Make the page easy to move around

Page layout, links between pages and accessibility

We test how people and search engine robots move through the page and on to the next useful page, without relying only on how the page looks.

A set number of headings, keyword-heavy link text or a link quota is not a ranking rule that works everywhere. Layout and links must help people understand the page and find related pages.

Outline organizeSections follow the customer's decision and what the page promises.
Page code structureHeadings, page areas, lists, tables and labels coded to show how they connect.
Reading order readOrder makes sense on computers, phones and screen readers for people with disabilities.
Links in discoverRelated pages link to the main page, with helpful words around the link.
Links out navigateProof, definitions and next decisions all point to the right pages on your site.
Link quality linkLinks can be followed by Google, describe where they go, work and can be used with a keyboard.
Check 05 · Back up the page safely

Proof, key facts, claims, images and hidden labels

We link what the page says, and how its people, products and places connect, to real sources, the people responsible and supporting material everyone can access.

We never make up expertise, results, authors, dates, reviews or star ratings. Correct hidden labels (structured data) only make a page eligible for extra features, and they must match what visitors can see on the main page.

Claims verifyImportant facts, prices, qualifications and comparisons backed by sources.
Proof proveMethods, examples, demonstrations and honest limits approved.
Authors creditReal writers and reviewers shown where readers expect to see them.
Key facts matchPeople, products, services, places and how they connect made consistent.
Media mediaRights, context, image descriptions, sizes and loading tested.
Hidden labels schemaOnly supported label types that fit the page, matching the facts visitors see.
Check 06 · Launch the customer path

Getting in touch, working on every screen size and final checks

We match the next step to how ready the reader is, make the approved page changes and test the whole live journey.

On-page SEO is never an excuse for tricks, fake urgency or asking for more personal data than needed. Technical, accessibility and lead-related work each keep a clearly named person in charge.

Clear offer clarifyService, product, process, price details and what's not included explained.
Next step actThe call to action (the button or link asking people to act) fits the page and how ready customers really are.
Form or task completeLabels, error messages, consent, completion and the thank-you page tested.
Screen sizes mobileText, tables, images, links and buttons checked at chosen screen widths.
Live page go liveTitle, page code, links, hidden labels and tracking checked on the live site.
Undo plan controlSerious faults, exceptions, who owns them and how to undo the change recorded.
Check 07 · Watch results without overclaiming

Measuring each page, updates and upkeep

We separate what we changed from what Google showed and what customers eventually did, then keep the page up to date.

Search Console doesn't show every search and often credits data to the main (canonical) version of a page. Clicks, website visits and good-quality leads are counted in different ways, so they shouldn't be forced to match.

Work delivered deliverApproved content, facts, links, hidden labels and check status reported.
How Google shows it observeTitles, previews and special result features noted for each context.
Search searchTimes shown, clicks, click rate and ranking trends kept within the data's limits.
Visitor behavior engageVisits that start on the page, engagement and finished tasks defined.
Results qualifyCompleted actions and good-quality leads linked only where the data supports it.
Upkeep maintainTriggers for fact changes, conflicts, search changes, site updates and new proof assigned.
What changes

From random keyword edits to a clear plan for every page.

Before

Pages get one-off keyword, title and word-count edits, while it stays unclear who owns each page, what proves its claims, whether everyone can use it and what counts as a good lead.

  • Pages overlapSeveral pages compete for the same customer need, or one page tries to cover decisions that don't fit together.
  • Generic pageHeadings repeat common information, but methods, proof, honest limits and who is responsible for the facts are thin.
  • Mixed-up reportingA ranking, a click or a form is shown as proof of success, without saying where the number came from or how good the lead was.
Changes

Each chosen page gets an agreed job, a plan for its proof, a clear layout, useful links, a next step that fits the reader and live checks.

  • One page per search needSearch data, what Google shows and the customer's purpose all point to one approved main page.
  • Page value you can back upOriginal proof, accurate claims, key facts, images and hidden labels all keep their sources and limits.
  • Report that keeps sources apartWork delivered, how Google shows the page, Search Console data, visitor behavior and good-quality leads each keep their own definition.
After

Changes to your offers, facts, customer questions, what searchers want, Google results and site updates go into a managed list of page work.

  • Updates that matterNew proof, new decisions or corrected facts drive updates, not just a new date or more words.
  • Conflicts handledOverlapping pages and claims that don't agree go to the person responsible for the facts.
  • Measured upkeepPage and search data, live actions, exceptions and next decisions stay linked to each change that went live.
Your type of page

On-page SEO for your type of business and page

A product page, a clinic page, a software feature page, a financial service page, a marketplace listing and an article each need different facts, authors, images, hidden labels and ways for the visitor to take the next step. The rules in your industry and what's at stake for your customers change the work too.

How it fits together

How on-page SEO works: nine layers that keep a page useful after it goes live.

One change to a page can affect what Google thinks it is about, whether its facts are right, whether other pages link to it, whether everyone can use it, how it looks in search and the results it brings. Clear owners and a record of every change make those effects easy to trace.

The connected growth engine

Technical SEO

Problems with how Google finds, loads and reads your pages, which version counts as the main one, server responses, speed and site moves must all be fixed so the page changes can work as planned.

Content SEO and editorial

Research on groups of related topics, writing briefs, producing content, subject expertise and regular updates support your wider set of topics.

Design, accessibility and CRO

The order of information, images, how the page works on phones, forms and next steps must stay easy to use for everyone. CRO (conversion rate optimization) means changing pages so more visitors get in touch.

Product, legal and source owners

Real features, prices, policies, comparisons, qualifications and limits need approval from the people who know the facts.

Analytics, CRM and online sales

Search data links to actions on your site and good-quality leads only through tracking IDs and definitions that genuinely support it.

Digital PR and AI search

Original proof and mentions on other websites can help people find you, while mentions in AI answers and media coverage are scoped separately and never guaranteed.

One connected scope. On-page SEO Services is coordinated with the strategy, creative, experience, data and reporting it depends on, so responsibilities and handoffs stay visible in one written plan.

What to expect

How long on-page SEO takes, and how it fits into your full growth plan.

On-page SEO runs as overlapping rounds of research, making changes, putting them live and watching the results over the first 12 weeks. We watch how Google handles the pages and what results follow, but we can't guarantee them. This focused schedule sits inside the six-month Softscotch growth plan shown below.

Main search terms can move closer to page one, the first leads from free search often arrive, AI tools may begin to mention you, and testing improvements to your pages (CRO, conversion rate optimization) helps more visitors get in touch.

Growth builds on itself

Pages that are working are protected and improved, template pages bring in visitors searching for very specific terms, and SEO, ads, email and automation work together to bring steadier leads and sales. Timing varies by market and competition, and no ranking is guaranteed.

How our on-page SEO compares: no keyword formulas, word-count targets or promises about Google's previews.

The difference is a clear, written link between what people are really searching for today, accurate and original value on your page, a page everyone can use and a customer action your business can actually deliver.

The risk of using a different agency for everything
  • Creates near-copy pages for each small keyword variation
  • Treats one automatic keyword grouping as the final word on what searchers want
  • Copies the headings and word counts of today's top results
  • Relies on repeating exact keywords and placing them in headings
  • Promises Google will show the title and description they wrote
  • Formats text to "win" a featured snippet or AI mention
  • Adds hidden labels even when the visible page doesn't qualify
  • Adds links between pages to hit a quota or a keyword pattern
  • Changes the date and adds words to call a page "updated"
  • Credits a change in rankings or leads to one edit without any fair comparison
vs
Softscotch
  • Gives one responsible page to each truly different customer need
  • Keeps data sources, how terms were grouped, unclear cases and what Google shows visible
  • Finds true, original proof and real differences from competitors before any writing starts
  • Uses natural language and a clear structure so everyone can understand and use the page
  • Improves what Google uses for titles and previews, and reports honestly on what it shows
  • Writes clear, source-backed passages with no promise of placement or AI mentions
  • Adds only supported hidden labels that match the facts visitors can see
  • Links pages when it helps people find things or make a decision
  • Updates pages with real new facts, proof, examples and changed decisions
  • Keeps work delivered, how Google shows the page, visitor behavior and good-quality leads apart

Ethical, transparent, always on

One accountable team, strictly white-hat (only methods search engines and platforms allow), no shortcuts and no surprises. Support whenever you need it.

One plan, full-stack access

One Softscotch plan gives you access to the full service stack, coordinated around your priorities.

You do not need a separate agency or retainer for every channel. Your plan can draw from search, paid media, web, ecommerce, outreach, automation, lead generation, messaging, content, creative and operations. The agreed scope sets what is active, in what order and at what capacity.

Pricing approach

One price for everything, not a stack of separate retainers.

You get one price for your whole marketing, not a separate retainer for every service. SEO, paid ads, your website, automations, cold email and newsletters, we run all of it as a single scope, so you get the most result for what you pay. Agencies sell each of these on its own, so the invoice climbs whether or not that line drives a single lead.

Bought separately, service by service

A different agency or retainer for each service. The bill stacks up fast, and keeps climbing whether or not each one moves a single lead.

All of it, one scope

We run your whole marketing as one engagement, so you get the most result for what you pay, not a pile of disconnected invoices.

Questions, answered

On-page SEO FAQs: no keyword formulas, forced previews or made-up authority.

These answers cover what's included, what searchers want, titles, search previews, headings, links, proof, hidden labels (schema), AI search, accessibility, making the changes, measurement, timing and pricing.

What is included in Softscotch on-page SEO services?

The work can include deciding each page's purpose and which page is the main one, research on what people search for, a comparison with the pages that currently rank, titles and search previews, a clear page layout, original proof, author details, key facts about your products, people and places, links between pages, images, suitable hidden labels for Google, accessibility, the steps to get in touch or buy, making the changes, measuring each page and ongoing upkeep. Your proposal picks the pages, deliverables, approvals and how often we review them.

How is on-page SEO different from technical SEO and content SEO?

On-page SEO improves one main page and how it connects to the pages around it. Technical SEO deals with how Google finds, loads and reads your site, server responses, which page version counts as the main one, speed and site moves. Content SEO covers wider research, groups of related topics, writing briefs, producing articles and keeping them up to date. A proposal can join these services together while keeping a clear owner and deliverable for each one.

Is on-page SEO mainly adding keywords to titles, headings and text?

No. We use the words your customers and searchers use, naturally, where they help people understand the page. Keyword stuffing (cramming in keywords) breaks Google's spam policies. The real work is matching a real customer need with accurate value, a clear structure, proof, links that help people find things and a sensible next step. There is no magic keyword percentage, heading placement or word count.

How do you work out what searchers want?

We combine the original search terms, how confident we are in grouping them, dated snapshots of Google results, the types of pages that show up, what customers tell you and fit with your business. We note when a search has mixed meanings or changes by country or device, rather than pretending one snapshot applies everywhere. Then we decide which need your business can honestly meet and which page should be the main answer for it.

Can several pages target the same keyword or topic?

Sometimes related pages can serve different customer needs, buying stages, products or locations. We check whether pages are really competing in search and in content before deciding to keep, change, merge, redirect, hide from Google (noindex) or retire a page. Overlapping keywords alone are not a reason to delete or merge a useful page, and merging pages doesn't guarantee the new page keeps the old results.

Will Google show the title you write?

Not always. Google creates the title shown in search results automatically and may use the page title, the main heading, other headings, prominent text, link text and other sources. We make all of these accurate, unique and consistent and check the result after Google re-reads the page, but we can't guarantee the title Google shows or how long that takes.

Will Google use the meta description?

Not always. Google mostly creates the preview text (snippet) from the page content for each search, and may use your meta description when it describes the page better. We write a useful, unique summary, improve the passages Google may quote and review the preview settings, but Google decides the wording and length that appear.

Can you get my page into a featured snippet or "People also ask"?

We can write short, accurate, well-organized answers where they genuinely help the reader. Google states that site owners can't mark a page as a featured snippet; its systems decide which page to use. The same goes for "People also ask" and similar answer boxes, so good formatting makes you eligible but is never a guarantee of placement.

How many H1s, headings or words should a page have?

There is no set number. The page needs a clear main heading (the H1) and descriptive, logical headings that show how sections connect and help people move around, including people who use screen readers. The length depends on the customer's decision, the proof needed and what is useful to explain. Google has said plainly that it has no preferred word count.

How do you improve links between my pages?

We decide which page owns each topic, find links between pages that genuinely help, use standard links Google can follow with short, descriptive link text, and test the live page and customer path. We don't chase a magic number of links or force exact keywords into link text. Fixes to site templates and to pages that have no links pointing to them are coordinated with the technical team when needed.

Do you add E-E-A-T signals or authority content?

E-E-A-T stands for experience, expertise, authoritativeness and trust, which Google uses to describe trustworthy content. We don't sell an E-E-A-T score or make up authority. We can add real author or reviewer details where readers expect them, approved sources, methods, real experience, examples, honest limits, corrections and original proof. Trust comes from accurate responsibility and useful content, not from a badge, a short bio or a hidden label on its own.

Do you add structured data and FAQ schema?

We add only structured data (hidden labels for Google) that Google supports, that applies to the main page and that matches approved content visitors can see. Correct labels can make a page eligible for extra features but don't guarantee one, or a ranking. Google stopped showing FAQ rich results (the drop-down questions under a search result) in May 2026, so we don't treat FAQ schema as an on-page benefit, and we never make up ratings or business details.

How does on-page SEO help with AI search?

A clear job for each page, useful content that isn't generic, facts backed by sources, clearly named products, people and places, a structure everyone can use and eligibility for search previews can all help search tools find and use your content, including AI answers. Google says normal SEO best practices still apply to its AI features. We may test whether quoted passages keep their meaning out of context, but no special file, hidden label or page format guarantees a mention in an AI answer.

Do you check accessibility and how easy pages are to read on phones?

Yes, for the pages in scope. We check headings, labels, links, reading order, tables, image descriptions, keyboard use and content that spills off small screens, and test the main task on computer and mobile. A full WCAG (website accessibility guidelines) audit or legal certification is a separate accessibility project when you need one.

Will Softscotch make the changes for us?

Yes, where our access and scope allow. We can edit the content in your website editor (CMS), page titles and descriptions, links, hidden labels and related templates, or coordinate design and development changes. Every chosen change has checks that it works, approval of the facts and a check on the live site. Server, legal or high-risk platform changes stay with the right person on your side.

How do you measure on-page SEO?

We report the work delivered separately from how Google shows the page, Search Console performance, what visitors do on the site and good-quality leads. Search Console can hide some searches for privacy or show only part of the list, and most data is credited to the main version of each page. Clicks and analytics visits are also counted differently. Our reports state these limits before explaining any change.

How long does an on-page SEO cycle take?

Timing depends on how many pages, gaps in proof, approvals from experts and lawyers, access to your website editor and any design or development work. One focused page can move faster than merging several pages or a page that needs regulatory review. When Google re-reads the page and how results follow depend on Google and your market, so the proposal keeps our delivery dates separate from the time needed to watch results.

How is on-page SEO priced, and do we need ongoing support?

Pricing depends on the chosen pages, how complex the research is, claim and proof work, writing, images, hidden labels, accessibility, design or development, measurement and upkeep. Ongoing support is optional, unless the page depends on facts that change often or you want us to keep watching it. Your proposal lists what's included and not included, what we need from others, outside costs, how often we review and our fee.
