Copywriting Services for Websites & Campaigns

Proof-Backed Copywriting Services

We'll reply with a written proposal: the work, what we need from you and an estimated timeline.

The hidden reasons copy fails

Nice words can't fix an unclear offer or a promise you can't back up.

Before we assume a rewrite is the answer, we look at how buyers decide, what your product really does, what customers say, the claims and proof you use, the space the copy has to fit, how it goes live and what can and can't be measured.

  • The copy answers an internal brief, not a buyer's decision

People inside the business argue over wording while nobody has pinned down who the reader is, their situation, what they believe now, what they need to understand, how much proof they need, what worries them and what they should do next.

  • The offer changes from one place to the next

Ads, web pages, product screens, sales decks and welcome emails speak to different audiences and use different terms, promises, prices or next steps, because there is no single agreed version of the message and the facts.

  • Claims go further than the proof

Benefits, comparisons, performance figures, certifications, testimonials and "buy now" urgency appear with no product-specific source, context, permission, conditions, end date or person allowed to approve them.

  • Customer words are copied without context

One memorable call, review or survey answer is treated as what all customers think, even when nobody knows which customer group it came from, when it was said, how it was picked, whether it's private or whether it still applies.

  • Versions break once they leave the document

Headlines, descriptions, copy blocks, personalized fields and translations get cut off, shuffled or shown next to the wrong proof, small print or call to action (the button or link asking people to act).

  • Results are claimed without knowing who saw the copy

Teams compare one date range with another, or trust a platform's label, without a fixed ID for each piece of copy, a known audience, a record of who saw it, the right base number, safety checks or a comparison group. Then the wording gets credit for everything that happened afterwards.

Scope

What our copywriting services cover.

Help buyers understand what you sell, believe the proof you can back up and take a sensible next step. Softscotch turns what your customers, sales team and product tell us into an approved set of key messages, plus sample copy for the website, product, campaign or sales pieces in your plan. Wider strategy, new research, design, website building, ad buying, translation, expert review and unlimited revisions are separate unless your proposal lists them.

The first eight cards describe the copywriting work itself. Your proposal picks the pieces of copy, fields, versions, markets, research, reviewers, putting copy live and upkeep. The last two cards are related services: content strategy and blog writing.

Brief on your buyer, your offer and the reader's decision

We define your audiences, their situations, what they believe now, what you want them to understand or do, the true facts of your product and offer, the business goal, the risks, how much proof is needed, the pieces of copy, who owns what, what we depend on and where copy is not the right fix.

Customer research and message map

We study approved interviews, calls, reviews, surveys, search terms, support tickets, sales notes and performance data, noting where each came from, privacy limits, whether it reflects most customers and how far it can be trusted.

Claims, proof and sources

We set which sources count most, build one agreed set of facts, map your messages and the objections they answer, keep a log linking each claim to its proof, record permission to use each piece of proof, and set word rules, conditions and who signs off.

Website, product and sales page copy

We write the home, service, feature, use-case, comparison, landing, online store, product, pricing and form pages in your plan, plus buttons, calls to action and in-app wording, all within the real space each page and layout allows.

Campaign, customer email and sales packs

We create ready-to-use copy for emails, ads, social posts, direct-response pieces, launches, follow-up email series and sales materials, with notes on each piece's job, length limits, which pieces can go together, which must always appear together and how to hand them over.

Final checks, easy reading, other languages and live checks

Before sign-off we check facts, claims, voice, how easy it is to read, headings and labels, usage rights, page titles and descriptions, links, text that gets cut off, how it looks on phones and computers, other languages, backup text and whether the live version matches the approved one.

{}

Versions, rules and upkeep pack

We hand over IDs for each piece of copy and each version, what each test is meant to learn, revisions, sign-offs, who owns each field, version history, records of any AI use, reuse rights, what should trigger an update, how to undo a change, the limits of the reports and when to retire old copy.

Brand voice guide

We write down how your brand should sound, with examples of words and phrases to use and avoid, how formal to be and how the voice adapts for different readers, so anyone writing for you later stays consistent.

Why Softscotch

We link every sentence to a buyer decision and an approved source.

What customers say, your product facts, the proof behind each claim, layout rules, different versions, sign-offs and live use all stay connected. That way your copy stays clear, easy to defend and easy to update long after the document is handed over.

We understand the buyer's decision before we write

The audience, their situation, what they believe, how much proof they need, the next step and where copy won't help are agreed before anyone's favorite headline or formula becomes the answer.

Customer words keep their source

For interviews, calls, reviews and what we see people do, we keep the source, customer group, date, context, permissions and how they were chosen, and we keep what was said separate from what we think it means.

Every important claim has an owner

The exact wording, what it suggests, the proof, the product version, conditions, small print, disclosures, end date and your reviewer stay linked through every revision and every change that goes live.

Copy is written for the space it will live in

We test page sections, character limits, layouts on different screen sizes, fields that fill in automatically, combinations of copy pieces, other languages and backup text, instead of leaving a designer or channel team to fix problems later.

AI help has limits and is checked

Approved source material, data kept out, recorded prompt (the instructions given to AI) and model versions, tests, human reviewers, logs and a way to stop it all support the work. Smooth-sounding AI text is never treated as true.

What we learn keeps its limits

We record copy IDs, audiences, versions, go-live dates and the right measures, and we keep customer feedback, results credited to the copy and proof from controlled tests separate.

Basic to advanced

The skills behind research-led copy that is ready to publish.

These 36 factors run from researching your audience and offer, through key messages, writing for each channel, checking claims, easy reading for everyone, reusable copy blocks, adapting for other countries and checking AI-assisted writing, to rules for keeping copy up to date.

Decisions, offer and research
Agreement on the reader's decisionName the audience, their situation, what they believe now, what they need to understand, the action you want, how much proof they need, their main worry, the business value and the cases where copy is not what's holding results back.
Map of audiences, situations and decisionsTreat the buyer, the user, the person comparing options, the person who approves, partners and existing customers separately, instead of squeezing every reader into one made-up profile.
What you offer and who it's not forRecord the product or service, who qualifies, what's included and not included, the price or commitment, availability, how it is delivered, the next step, decisions still open and claims the copy must not make.
Customer research (voice of the customer)Use approved interviews, calls, reviews, surveys, website search terms, support tickets, sales notes and reasons for lost deals, keeping track of where each came from, privacy, how it was picked and how far it can be trusted.
List of every place copy appearsMap pages, products, forms, emails, ads, sales decks, scripts, notifications, website editing fields, languages, versions, owners, current versions, performance and messages that contradict each other.
Starting point for messages and conflictsCompare audiences, offers, claims, proof, terms, voice and calls to action across your live copy before adding yet another version.
Sources, claims and proof
Which sources count mostPrefer current, first-hand product, customer, operations, legal and research proof, keep its context and flag important claims for expert or legal review.
One agreed set of product factsAgree the official names for products and features, how they work, who qualifies, prices, units, availability, which other tools they connect to, their limits and who owns each source.
Claims and proof logLink both stated and implied claims to their proof, the product version, the group it applies to, the market, conditions, how certain it is, small print, disclosures, date, end date and reviewer.
Rights to use proof and testimonialsRecord the real source, permission, any edits, whether the result is typical, any paid or personal link to you, rights to use logos or quotes, where they can appear, disclosures, end date and who removes them.
Key messages and voice
Positioning and message orderSet the order for who it's for, the problem, the product or service, how it works, the benefit, what makes you different, proof, objections, limits, the offer and the next step at each stage of the buying decision.
Voice, tone and word rulesDefine lasting voice traits, examples of what to do and not do, agreed terms, phrases that are too vague to use, how to handle abbreviations, differences by market and when the tone must change.
Page outline that's easy to follow and easy to quoteBuild sections that flow and give direct answers, with clear names, definitions, proof, examples, limits, links and calls to action, without stuffing in keywords for the sake of it.
Objections and honest answersMap each question, the real worry behind it, the proof needed, the honest answer, when not to answer, who to pass it to and which piece of copy or person deals with it.
Writing for each channel and layout
Website and service page copyWrite home, about, service, solution, use-case, comparison, integration (how you connect with other tools), pricing and contact pages, each built around one clear job and a sensible next step.
Landing page, product and online store copyWrite campaign landing pages, product detail pages, category sections, product fields, benefit and specification sections, FAQs, offers and checkout reassurance, all based on approved product facts.
Campaign, customer email and sales copyCreate the emails, ads, social posts, launch pieces, follow-up email series, direct-response pieces, sales decks, one-page summaries, scripts and follow-ups in your plan, without assuming we also run those platforms.
Small interface text and next-step wordingWrite menus, labels, buttons, forms, form error checks, error messages, empty screens, confirmations, notifications and help prompts that explain what is happening and what will happen next.
Editing checks and going live
Real examples, not fillerInclude approved real details about customers, products, processes, data, situations or the people doing the work, so each example adds information rather than just sounding specific.
Fact and source checksCheck names, dates, units, sums, links, quotes, sources, usage rights, disclosures, who wrote it, product versions and that the reviewer is clearly named.
Easy reading and accessibility checksReview plain language, headings, labels, whether links say where they go, abbreviations, how it sounds when read aloud by screen readers, language settings, help when something goes wrong and whether people can complete the task, not just pass a reading score.
Design and publishing checksTest fields, the order of headings, length, text that gets cut off, page sections, layouts on phones and computers, links, page titles and descriptions, copy that must appear together, fields that fill in automatically, other languages and whether the live page matches the approved copy.
Testing and learning
Copy versions ready for testingBefore handover, define the current version, the new version, the one message element that changes, the copy IDs, what you expect to happen, the audience, how many people need to see it, the main measure, safety measures and risks.
Checking that people understandAsk a fair mix of real users to explain the offer, the proof, what makes you different, the risk and the next step in their own words, then record what they misunderstood, rather than asking which version they like.
Who saw which version, and what happenedJoin the copy ID, page section, audience, channel, language, version and who saw it with the right actions, while being clear about how results were credited and the limits of the measurement.
Spotting errors, contradictions and outdated copyCatch out-of-date product facts, expired offers, claims without proof, missing disclosures, mixed-up terms, broken backup text and changes in performance after copy goes live.
Scale, other languages and AI
Copy built from reusable blocksDefine reusable copy blocks and fields, each with a fixed ID, purpose, where it may be used, limits, sources, what it depends on, language, backup text, owner and version.
Copy libraries that stay correct in any mixCreate headlines, descriptions, proof, small print and calls to action that stay accurate in every approved combination, and note which must go together, which must never go together and which must stay in a fixed position.
Personalization rules and backup copySet which audiences and data can be used, who is included or left out, which rule wins, what to show when details are unknown, default copy, sensitive situations, a preview of every version and a record of what was shown.
Translation and adapting copy for other countriesManage the original language, word list, terms that must not be translated, claims allowed in each market, units, right-to-left languages, how text fits the layout, local review, backup text and passing updates from the original to every translation.
AI-assisted copy with clear rulesUse approved sources, data kept out, prompts, AI models, output templates, examples, tests, reviewers, logs, limits on what AI may do, decisions on whether to say AI was used, and a way to stop it.
Rules, costs and upkeep
Sign-off, version and go-live rulesName reviewers for the brief, facts, claims, brand, accessibility, other languages, design, legal, each channel and publishing, with records of versions, decisions, go-live and how to undo changes.
Tracing copy back to its source and keeping names consistentFollow each source fact through messages, copy blocks, fields, versions, translations and live copy, and keep names and definitions the same everywhere while fixing contradictions.
Rights to reuse and retire copyRecord how copy may be quoted, translated, personalized, shared on other sites, moved, reused, archived or deleted, and which related versions must change with it.
What triggers an update, and how fastSend changes to products, prices, proof, offers, policies, regulations, languages, page layouts, sources and performance to the right owner, based on how serious they are and how quickly they need a response.
Is more copy worth it?Before ordering more copy, compare the cost of research, writing, review, putting it live and upkeep with how much it improves the buyer's decision, how much risk it removes and how much proof is available.
Research and writing tools

Tools help us organize proof and deliver copy. They don't decide what is true.

We choose interview, analytics, website editing, design, testing and AI tools to suit the agreed way of working. Naming a tool does not mean we are partners with it, that it makes copy automatically compliant, that it reliably persuades people or that we own a special AI model.

Look inside the message system

Seven checks show where copy loses meaning, proof or control.

Each check links the source proof, decisions, fields, versions, reviewers, tests and limits to a signed-off record that someone owns.

Check 01 · Decision and offer

Check of the buyer's decision, your offer and where copy can't help

We pin down the audience, the decision they face, the business goal and the true product facts before deciding whether the wording is really the problem.

This check can say "don't rewrite yet" when the product, offer, proof, availability, landing page or delivery process is still unclear.

Buyer and situation audienceSeparate users, buyers, people comparing options, approvers and existing customers, plus what brings each of them to this piece of copy.
Decision and next step decideName what the reader must understand or decide, the action, the risk, the commitment and a sensible alternative.
True product and offer facts factsConfirm features, how it works, who qualifies, what's included and not included, price, availability, delivery and the current version.
How much proof is needed proveFind which claims need support from operations, customers, science, finance, legal or other sources.
Map of copy and dependencies listList live messages, pages, page sections, channels, languages, owners and any design or system limits.
Where copy can't help, and who owns what limitsWrite down what wording can't fix and name the owners for business, product, legal, design, channel and go-live decisions.
Check 02 · Customer proof

Check of customer research, sources and privacy

We test whether the customer words we use come from approved, relevant and varied enough sources.

What customers actually said and did stays separate from the copywriter's reading of it, and personal data is only used for the purpose and with the tools you approved.

Research questions briefDecide what we need to learn about the customer's situation, what they want to achieve, other options they consider, their worries, the proof they need and the words they use to decide.
Interviews and calls used sampleRecord the type of person or record, customer group, where they are as a customer, date, how they were chosen and any known bias.
Reviews, searches and support tickets inputsCapture repeated questions, complaints, comparisons and terms, with their source and context, rather than one-off phrases.
Privacy and permissions privacyApprove the purpose, the details collected, what gets blacked out, who can access it, outside suppliers, use of AI, how long it's kept, when it's deleted and which sensitive content is off-limits.
Does it reflect most customers? limitsCompare themes across sources, note where they disagree, and don't treat something that came up often in an easy-to-reach group as true for the whole market.
Where each insight came from sourceLink every message idea to its proof, our reading of it, how confident we are, the audience, the owner and the decision it can support.
Check 03 · Messages and claims

Check of messages, facts, claims and proof

We settle the order of your messages and the proof behind each promise before using it across lots of copy.

A testimonial, small print or a smooth AI rewrite is never accepted in place of product-specific proof and a decision from someone allowed to make it.

Message order messagePut in order who it's for, the problem, how it works, the benefit, what makes you different, proof, limits, the offer and the next step.
Names and facts factsMake product, feature, connected tools, audience, price, unit, availability and terms match across all your source systems.
Stated and implied claims claimsReview what the words, images, layout and anything left out could suggest to a sensible buyer.
Does the proof fit? proofMatch the source, product version, group of people, result, conditions, certainty, market, date and end date to the exact wording.
Testimonials and disclosures rightsConfirm the real source, permission, any paid or personal link, whether the result is typical, conditions, where it appears, how it is used and who removes it.
Voice and objections voiceUse the approved terms and tone while answering real worries, without hiding limits or pretending to be certain.
Check 04 · Channel copy

Check of website, product, campaign and page section copy

We write and review copy in the field, layout, platform and order where a buyer will actually see it.

Copy ready for a channel names what else is needed to use it, and does not mean page building, automation, ad setup or ongoing improvement is included.

Website journeys webReview each page's job, where visitors arrive from, message order, proof, links, call to action and how well home, service and solution pages flow together.
Product and online store productCheck product facts, product options, specifications, benefits, objections, questions and answers, structured product fields and where the product data feed (the file that sends your products to Google and others) is handled by someone else.
Landing pages landingMatch the audience, the promise made in the ad or link, the offer, proof, anything that slows people down, the form, the confirmation and follow-up, without quietly changing other things that would skew results.
Email and sales copy emailReview each email's place in the series, subject line and preview text pairs, the body, how people reply, the context for decks or one-page summaries and how sales teams use them.
Ads and combinations adsTest headlines, descriptions, pinned (fixed-position) lines, required small print, character limits, which lines can be shown together, text that gets cut off and whether the landing page matches the ad.
Interface and status text interfaceReview labels, buttons, forms, form error checks, error messages, empty screens, confirmations, notices and how people get more help.
Check 05 · Understanding and other languages

Check of easy reading, translation and publishing

We check whether the people you're aiming at can understand the message, and whether the approved words still work once they appear on the real page.

Reading scores and machine translation only help. What decides sign-off is whether a fair mix of real readers understand it, what local experts say and how it looks in place.

Plain language clarityReview sentence structure, familiar words, definitions, abbreviations, unclear meaning, how hard it is to take in and whether technical words are really needed.
Clear signposts accessibilityCheck headings, labels, whether links say where they go, instructions, changes of language, the order a screen reader reads things aloud and help when something goes wrong.
Fits the layout displayPreview heading order, line breaks, text that gets cut off, layouts on different screens, fields that fill in automatically, links and whether required proof or small print sits close enough to the claim.
Adapting for each country languageReview meaning, culture, units, dates, the offer, claims, terms, alphabet, reading direction and what the product really offers in that market.
Backup text backupTest what shows when a translation is missing, a personal detail is unknown, an offer has expired, a field isn't supported, and what the default copy says.
Live copy matches go liveCompare the approved source with the fields in your website editor or platform, and with sample live pages on computer, phone and in each language.
Check 06 · Reusable blocks and AI

Check of copy structure, AI use and rules

We look at how copy is stored, created, reused, tested, approved and changed when there's a lot of it.

Automation may only suggest or assemble copy using approved facts, settings and permissions. It is always clear which person decides what goes live.

Copy structure structureDefine IDs for each block and field, their types, purpose, where they're used, limits, sources, what they depend on, language, owner and version.
What AI is allowed to use sourcesList the source material, what's left out, sensitive data, usage rights, how up to date it is, rules for looking things up and questions AI should not answer.
Prompt and AI model versions versionRecord the instructions, examples, output format, AI provider or model, settings, date and any important changes.
Test set for AI output testingTest facts, claims, quoted sources, voice, banned words, personal data, field limits, combinations, other languages and cases where AI should refuse.
Human sign-off before going live approvalAssign editing, product, claim, legal, language and publishing reviews based on the risk and the type of copy.
Changes and undo recoveryFind every block and version a change affects, preview changes, keep older versions and stop unsafe AI writing or publishing.
Check 07 · Testing and upkeep

Check of versions, results and upkeep

We make it clear which copy is which, who saw it and how decisions will be made, before reading anything into performance or ordering more versions.

What you see in performance data can tell you where to look. Saying the copy caused a result needs a fair split of visitors, a record of who saw what, comparable measures and enough data.

What we expect to happen ideaState the audience, the part of the message that changes, the behavior you expect, why it should work and the decision the result can support.
Copy and version IDs matchKeep a record of the current version, new versions, copy block, page section, channel, language, version number and go-live time.
Who sees what exposureDefine who can be included, how they're split between versions, proof they actually saw the copy, who's left out, how versions might get mixed up and how data is passed for measurement.
Measures and limits measurementKeep understanding, actions, lead quality, results credited to the copy and proof of cause separate, each with the right base number and safety checks.
Outdated copy and contradictions upkeepWatch for changes to products, offers, claims, proof, policies, languages, page sections and sources after the copy goes live.
Reuse and retirement lifecycleDecide whether to update, reuse, merge, archive, redirect or delete copy, plus what happens to related versions, rights and who owns it.
What changes

From rewrites based on opinion to a copy system with clear rules.

Before

Your copy sounds polished, but the offer, the proof and the live versions don't agree across teams and channels.

  • Opinion becomes the briefWhat people inside the business prefer replaces an agreed reader decision, a clear sense of how much proof is needed and a rule for where copy can't help.
  • Proof is just decorationTestimonials, numbers, logos and comparisons are used without context for the claim, permission to use them, an end date or a reviewer.
  • Publishing changes the meaningPage sections, text that gets cut off, combinations, other languages and fields that fill in automatically break the approved document after handover.
Changes

The approved message system links audience decisions, true offer facts, proof, objections, voice, claims, fields and sample copy for each piece of copy in your plan.

  • The decision guides the messageThe audience, their situation, the offer, the proof, their worries and the next step are all written down.
  • Claims keep their sourceThe exact wording stays linked to the right proof, conditions, usage rights, end date and sign-off.
  • Copy fits where it livesSample page sections, combinations, screen sizes, other languages and backup text pass final publishing checks.
After

Checking that live copy matches, plus what customers actually do, helps the right owner decide whether to keep, revise, reuse or retire copy as products, channels and proof change.

  • Changes reach every related piece of copyUpdates to products, prices, proof, policies and terms go to every affected copy block, version and language.
  • AI stays within the proofApproved source material, tests, reviewers, logs and a way to stop it control any AI-assisted writing.
  • Results keep their limitsKnowing which copy ran and who saw it helps you learn, without treating a pattern in the numbers as a promise of more sales.
How your business works

Copywriting changes with your buyer, product, proof and what's at stake.

Our method always starts from real proof. What changes by type of business is how long people take to buy, how complex the product is, the limits of each channel, the rules you must follow, the country and language, how much review is needed and what a good result looks like.

  • Organize test versions of the site, going live, handover for testing, checks for outdated copy, revisions and retiring old copy
You review & sign off

Your organization keeps the final say on product facts, proof, usage rights and what goes live.

  • Approve audiences, product and service facts, offers, prices, availability and how orders are delivered
  • Give us approved access to research, customer permissions, experts, source material and the people who run your systems
  • Approve factual and implied claims, the proof behind them, conditions, disclosures and end dates
  • Approve testimonials, endorsements, logos, quotes, data, images and the rights to reuse them
  • Approve legal, privacy, regulated-industry, language, product and go-live decisions
  • Keep final control of your accounts, data, platforms, spend, source files and published copy
How it fits together

Copy stays useful when the proof, the fields and the places customers see it stay connected.

The system links buyer research, the facts of your offer, the order of your messages, claims, proof, voice, reusable blocks, other languages, versions, going live, measurement and upkeep.

The connected growth engine

Content strategy

Decisions about your overall content, audiences, the job of each page, channels and budget show where copy should exist and when another piece of copy isn't needed.

Blog writing and content SEO

Article writing and search programs use the approved messages and facts, but keep separate ownership of search terms, editorial choices and the overall content plan.

Brand and design systems

Visual order, page parts and how people interact give copy its real setting, and show the limits on fields, accessibility and different screen sizes.

Landing pages and CRO

Page building, measurement and controlled tests use clearly labeled copy versions, without the writer claiming the copy caused a lift in results.

Email, paid ads and social teams

Channel teams own the audience, setup, sending, spend and ongoing improvement, while using the approved role for each piece of copy, its limits, pairings and landing pages.

Product, legal and data owners

Your business systems and approved reviewers stay in charge of current facts, claims, permissions, languages, personalization data, go-live and results.

One connected scope. Copywriting Services is coordinated with the strategy, creative, experience, data and reporting it depends on, so responsibilities and handoffs stay visible in one written plan.

What to expect

A brief backed by real sources first, then sample copy your team can approve.

The brief and a map of the proof are usually prepared in days 1 to 5, the key messages are approved in week 1 and sample copy arrives in weeks 1 to 2, as long as the proof and reviewers are ready. More pieces of copy, new research, legal or regulated review, translation or putting copy live adds time.

Our full growth plan (all services together), month by month

Month 1

Foundation and review

We review your whole website, where you rank and your competitors, agree how the site should be organized, and set up hosting, analytics (visitor tracking) and your GoHighLevel lead system. The first agreed pages start going live.

KPI pages live
Month 2

Build and launch

The site is built or rebuilt. Main, service and industry pages go live with on-page SEO, website labels and technical fixes. Your Google Business Profile is improved and lead follow-up automations are switched on.

KPI pages in Google
Month 3

Early rankings, paid ads start

More pages built from templates (programmatic pages) start going live, paid ads and email follow-ups are switched on for early leads, and Google adds your pages to its results as the first rankings usually appear.

KPI search terms ranking
Month 4

Momentum builds

Rankings often start climbing, visits from free search begin to rise, ad spending is tuned to the return it brings (ROAS, return on ad spend), and groups of related articles and links from other sites build your reputation with Google.

KPI visits from search
Month 5

Results start to show

Main search terms can move closer to page one, the first leads from free search often arrive, AI tools may begin to mention you, and testing improvements to your pages (CRO, conversion rate optimization) helps more visitors get in touch.

KPI leads from search
Month 6

Growth builds on itself

Pages that are working are protected and improved, template pages bring in visitors searching for very specific terms, and SEO, ads, email and automation work together to bring steadier leads and sales. Timing varies by market and competition, and no ranking is guaranteed.

How we compare

Good copywriting is a system of proof and sign-off, not just rearranging words.

The difference shows in buyer research, knowing where each claim comes from, fitting the layout, tracking each version, easy reading for everyone, adapting for other countries, keeping AI in check, checking the live page and being honest about what results mean.

The risk of using a different agency for everything
  • Starts with what people inside the business like, or a favorite copywriting formula
  • Treats one interview or review quote as what all your customers think
  • Writes claims first and asks for proof after they're approved
  • Uses testimonials, logos and comparisons without recording permission or context
  • Delivers channel copy as plain text, with no rules for fields, length or combinations
  • Treats a reading score, Google Ads' Ad Strength rating or an AI score as proof of quality
  • Translates a document with no rules for each country, page layout or backup text
  • Uses AI writing tools without approved sources, tests or limits on what data they can see
  • Calls a before-and-after date comparison or a platform label an A/B test result (a fair test that splits visitors between two versions)
  • Leaves source files, versions, updates and retiring copy to whoever happens to find the document
vs
Softscotch
  • Agrees the reader's decision, the offer, how much proof is needed and where copy won't help, first
  • Keeps the source, customer group, date, privacy, how it was chosen and how far it can be trusted
  • Links stated and implied claims to the right proof, conditions and named reviewer
  • Tracks real proof, permissions, disclosures, where it's used, end dates and removal
  • Supplies fixed field and version IDs, limits, copy that must go together and backup text
  • Uses checks that people understand, publishing checks and the right results data, with clear limits
  • Manages a word list, adapting copy for each country, reading direction, claims allowed in each market, local review and backup text
  • Keeps AI within approved sources, versions, tests, human review, logs and a way to stop it
  • Gives CRO or channel teams clear versions, how many people need to see them and honest notes on what can be proved
  • Hands over where every fact came from, the files you own, versions, response times and who owns each piece going forward

Ethical, transparent, always on

One accountable team, strictly white-hat (only methods search engines and platforms allow), no shortcuts and no surprises. Support whenever you need it.

One plan, full-stack access

One Softscotch plan gives you access to the full service stack, coordinated around your priorities.

You do not need a separate agency or retainer for every channel. Your plan can draw from search, paid media, web, ecommerce, outreach, automation, lead generation, messaging, content, creative and operations. The agreed scope sets what is active, in what order and at what capacity.

Pricing approach

One price for everything, not a stack of separate retainers.

You get one price for your whole marketing, not a separate retainer for every service. SEO, paid ads, your website, automations, cold email and newsletters, we run all of it as a single scope, so you get the most result for what you pay. Agencies sell each of these on its own, so the invoice climbs whether or not that line drives a single lead.

Bought separately, service by service

A different agency or retainer for each service. The bill stacks up fast, and keeps climbing whether or not each one moves a single lead.

All of it, one scope

We run your whole marketing as one engagement, so you get the most result for what you pay, not a pile of disconnected invoices.

Questions, answered

What to know before you hire a copywriter.

These answers cover what's included, research, customer interviews, what you get, SEO (showing up in Google search), AI, claims, proof, regulated industries, product copy, other languages, putting copy live, revisions, testing, timing, pricing, who owns the work and guarantees.

Filter
What's included in your copywriting services?

Your plan can include research into your buyers and offer, analysis of what customers say, key messages and answers to objections, control of sources and claims, voice and word rules, website, service, product, landing page, email, ad, sales and interface copy, versions, accessibility, translation and adapting for other countries, publishing checks, handover and upkeep. Your proposal names every piece of copy, field, market, research source, reviewer, revision round and who is responsible for putting copy live.

What access and input do you need from us?

We usually need your current pages and campaigns, product or service documents, offers and prices, sales and support information, approved customer research, analytics, brand guidelines, your website editor or design page parts, legal and policy rules, reviewers and the actions you want people to take. Your team approves product facts, permissions, claims, usage rights, regulated wording and what goes live.

How is copywriting different from content strategy or blog writing?

Copywriting focuses on the messages buyers see and the actions you want them to take on your website, product, campaigns, sales materials and in-app screens. Content strategy decides your overall content, audiences, the job of each page, formats and budget. Blog writing covers regular article research and writing. We coordinate all three but keep the search terms each one targets and what each one delivers separate.

Do you interview customers and review sales calls?

Yes, when access, permissions, privacy rules and time for research are part of your plan. We set the questions and who to talk to, study interviews, sales or support calls, reviews, surveys and other proof, keep track of the source and customer group and point out the limits of how people were chosen. A striking quote isn't treated as what most customers think just because it sounds persuasive.

What if we don't have any customer research yet?

We can start with product, sales, support, review, search, competitor and customer behavior information, and suggest interviews or tests where they would change the message. If the offer or the proof can't be pinned down, the right result may be a research plan or a decision that copy isn't the fix, rather than confident copy built on guesses.

Can one project cover website, landing page, product, email and ad copy?

Yes, as long as the pieces of copy, audiences, channels, fields and amount of review are named. The key messages can stay shared while each piece follows its own setting, character limits, combinations and next step. Design and building, campaign setup, automation, ad buying and ongoing improvement stay separate unless they're included.

Do you write copy for SEO, AEO or AI search?

We can write clear page titles, headings, direct answers, clear names of things, proof, examples, limits, links and page descriptions, following an approved search brief. Keyword plans, technical SEO, schema (hidden labels that describe your page to search engines), testing how AI tools find your pages and measuring AI visibility belong to our content SEO, AEO (answer engine optimization: getting your answers picked up by AI and answer boxes), GEO (generative engine optimization) or AI search visibility services, unless added to your plan. No format can guarantee rankings, featured snippets or mentions in AI answers.

Do you use AI to write copy?

AI may help organize research, suggest variations, rewrite or fill in fields in a controlled way, once we have agreed the approved sources, data kept out, prompt and model versions, output format, tests and human reviewers. We don't publish unchecked bulk AI output, and we don't treat search results or automatic scores as proof that copy is true, allowed to be used, compliant, on-brand or persuasive.

Can you write product descriptions for a large catalog?

Yes, when product details, source systems, fields, product options, claims, languages, exceptions and checks are reliable. Where relevant, we can prepare structured product copy and fill in current Google Merchant Center fields, such as the ones used to mark text written with AI and the newer optional question-and-answer style fields. Connecting to your product information system, AI catalog enrichment, building your Merchant Center product feed and fixing feed errors stay separate services unless included.

How do you handle claims, testimonials and regulated industries?

We link stated and implied claims to the right product-specific proof, conditions, small print, disclosures, usage rights, dates and approved reviewers. A testimonial is not a substitute for real proof. Your legal, medical, financial, regulatory and product owners make the final decisions. Softscotch does not give legal advice or make up supporting proof.

Can you match our brand voice, or create one?

Yes. We review approved examples of what to do and what not to do, set lasting voice traits, when the tone should shift, word rules, how to handle abbreviations and phrases that are too vague, and test the rules across sample copy. A voice guide can't make an unsupported claim safe. If your wider brand direction isn't settled, brand identity is a separate project.

Do you handle translation and adapting copy for other countries?

Yes, when the original language, markets, word list, terms that must not be translated, claims, units, dates, reading direction, page sections, backup text and local reviewers are named. We adapt the message to the local product and culture, and test that updates reach every language. Smooth machine translation is not accepted without the right local and expert review.

Will you put the copy into Figma, our website editor or our ad platform?

Your proposal states how we hand over the copy and who puts it live. We can deliver organized documents, maps of page sections or fields, copy ready to drop into Figma (a design tool), website editor fields or channel copy sheets, and we can add it to approved systems if that's included. Development, design, automation, campaign setup and platform access are not assumed to be part of a copywriting fee.

How many revisions are included, and what counts as approval?

Revision rounds, the people involved, response times and what counts as "done" are written into your proposal. Approval should cover the brief, product and offer facts, claims and proof, message direction, final fields, versions and the published result. A change to the product, offer, audience or regulations is a change of scope, not a small cosmetic revision.

Can you A/B test the copy?

We can create a current version and new versions with copy IDs, one changed message element, what we expect to happen, the audience, how many people need to see it, the main measure, safety measures and risks. Unless included, CRO or channel specialists handle measurement, splitting visitors, deciding how much traffic is needed, running the test and judging whether the copy caused the result. A simple before-and-after comparison is not an A/B test.

Can you guarantee more sales, higher rankings or more revenue?

No. Whether the product suits the buyer, the offer, price, traffic, audience, design, page speed, trust, how it is put live, measurement, sales, delivery and the market all affect results. We commit to the agreed research, proof, writing, controls, sign-off and reporting, and we avoid made-up results or promises we can't back up about sales, rankings or mentions in AI answers.

How long does a copywriting project take?

Expect the brief and a map of the proof in days 1 to 5, approval of the key messages in week 1 and sample copy in weeks 1 to 2, as long as the proof and reviewers are ready. More pieces of copy, new research, regulated-industry review, translation or putting copy live will add time.

How is copywriting priced, and who owns the work?

Pricing depends on the audiences, research, interviews, how complex the product is, claims, pieces of copy, fields, versions, channels, languages, how much review is needed, putting copy live, testing and upkeep, not just word count. Your proposal states fees, outside costs, revisions, usage rights and reuse. Your own sources and accounts and the agreed final copy are handed over with version history and named owners.
