Local Citation Building & Listing Management

Make every location you're allowed to list easier for customers and directories to check and trust.

We'll reply with a written proposal: the work, what we need from you and an estimated timeline.

The hidden listing problems

Sending your details to more directories can spread a wrong listing even further.

Before adding more listings, we check whether each location qualifies, how your locations and staff relate to each other, the proof behind your details, who has access, what each directory shows today, the risk of duplicates, whether your website matches and who is in charge of changes.

  • Your master details are already wrong

An old address, a call-tracking number, a wrong category, web link or set of hours gets copied into more directories, because there's no approved record of your details and no date showing when each one took effect.

  • One real business turns into several online listings

Moves, rebrands, departments, practitioners and profiles that platforms create automatically lead to competing listings, ID numbers, reviews and directions that confuse customers.

  • Nobody checks if the listing is allowed until after it's built

Virtual offices, co-working spaces, home-based businesses that travel to customers or staff who don't meet the public get listed without checking the rules of the site they're listed on.

  • A submission receipt is called a live listing

Nobody tells apart "still processing", "rejected", "changed by the directory", "synced" and what the public listing actually shows, and nobody checks again later.

  • Access and ownership disappear at handover

Profiles sit in staff, supplier or shared accounts with no main owner, no recovery options, no record of permissions, listing IDs or logins, and no plan for removing access when people leave.

  • Everyday changes bring the mistakes back

A move, holiday hours, a new phone number, a closure or a new practitioner gets updated in one place, while your website, maps, directories and booking links keep showing the old details.

What you can hire us to do

Seven areas of work take each location that qualifies from approved details to tracked directory updates and a clean handover.

Softscotch helps local businesses, and businesses with many locations, keep their public details correct and easy to trust everywhere they appear online: names, addresses, service areas, phone numbers, opening hours and website links. We check which locations and practitioners (individual professionals such as doctors, lawyers or advisers) are allowed a listing on each site, build one approved record of your details, review the listings that already exist and who controls them, pick the directories that actually matter, handle claims and corrections, and check each change until we can see it live. You get a master record of your location details, a list of your listings and duplicates, a plan for each directory, a record of every submission and a clean handover. We can't promise that every directory will accept a change or that your local rankings will improve.

Your proposal lists the locations, countries, directories, details, verification steps, duplicate cases, website checks, tools, ongoing fees and upkeep that are included. Each area of work produces something you can actually use, such as a record of your location details or a listing update. Review management, building local web pages and wider local SEO are separate unless listed.

Who qualifies, your locations and the true details

We list your locations, service areas, departments, practitioners and planned changes such as openings, moves and closures. Then we build one approved record of your details, with the source of each detail, ID numbers, start dates, the person who owns it and the rules for each site.

Listings, ownership and duplicate check

We list every public profile, web link, directory ID, name, address, phone number, set of hours and category, whether it's claimed, who owns it, duplicates, closures, conflicting details and any missing proof.

“

Directory plan

We rank the big search, map and navigation sites, plus industry, professional and local directories, by how much your customers use them, whether you qualify, location, how trusted they are, how much control you get, cost and how much upkeep they're worth.

Claiming, verification and access

We use approved routes such as owner or manager roles, secure sign-in links (OAuth: letting a tool act for you without sharing your password), bulk tools or supported partner services. We prepare proof, track verification, account recovery and problem cases, and make sure you keep main control.

Creating, fixing and adding detail to listings

We create or update the listings you qualify for, with supported categories, services, features, descriptions, photos, hours, links and map details, and keep a record of every detail we submit and whether it went live.

Duplicates, practitioners and website matching

We tell real duplicates apart from genuine separate listings, ask platforms to hide or merge the true duplicates, and make sure your main listings match the location pages on your website and the hidden business labels (LocalBusiness schema) on them.

Changes across many locations, checks and reporting

We manage moves, rebrands, openings, closures, hours and practitioner changes, watch for details drifting out of date and for access problems, and report data quality, directory status, profile activity and real customer results separately.

Checking where your competitors are listed

We look at which directories and industry sites your main local competitors appear on, find useful ones where you are missing and add the right ones to your directory plan. We skip low-quality sites, even when competitors use them.

Why Softscotch

We connect your approved location details to what each directory actually shows.

Our work links checking who qualifies, sorting out which listing belongs to which location, access, submissions, live checks, changes over time and honest measurement. We never report a count of directories as if that were the result.

We confirm you qualify before creating a new profile

Before anything goes live, we write down how your business really works, how customers reach you, whether your address is shown, your departments and practitioners, and any questions specific to each platform.

Your true details and each site's format stay separate

One approved record holds your true business details, while separate settings handle each site's category lists, address formats, service areas, descriptions and limits.

Every location keeps its ID numbers and history

Your own location IDs stay linked to each directory's IDs, web links, duplicates, merges, redirects, moves and current status, so future updates never lose track of the right business.

Sending a change isn't treated as proof it's live

We keep what we sent, the dates, how we sent it and the replies. Then we check the public listing and record whether each change was accepted, rejected, altered, is still open or has drifted out of date again.

Automation has approvals and a way to handle problems

Bulk and automatic updates (through an API, a secure link between software systems) go through checks, side-by-side comparisons of each change, start dates, duplicate prevention, retries, a log of every change and a person's review for unclear or risky changes.

Reports are honest about what platforms show and what can be proven

We keep the quality of your master record, profile activity, tracked website visits, calls, bookings and good-quality leads separate, and we never suggest that rankings or mentions in AI answers are guaranteed.

The complete listings scope

The 36 decisions behind accurate location details and listings that are easy to keep up to date.

The work moves from checking who qualifies and agreeing your details, through access, directories, corrections, duplicates, matching your website, careful changes and reporting. Automatic matching helps us spot differences quickly, but unclear cases and risky changes are always checked by a person.

Your true details, scope and who qualifies
Locations covered and who qualifiesWe record every real location, business that travels to customers, department, practitioner, brand and planned change, the proof customers can see and which platforms need a check on whether you qualify.
Your current listings and who owns themWe list profiles, web links, IDs, whether each is claimed and verified, owners, user roles, recovery options, the details shown, duplicates, closures, errors and any platform actions still open.
Record of your location detailsKeep names, categories, addresses, service areas, hours, phone numbers and web links the same across every trusted source.
What this work covers and who does whatKeep listing-data work separate from wider local SEO, review management, building local pages, tracking, legal advice and decisions that only platforms can make.
Proof and start dates for each detailLink each important detail and change to its source, the person who approved it, its start date, its end date or review point, and how it should appear in public.
Ranking priorities and risksRank locations, directories and conflicts by how much harm they cause customers, whether you qualify, how visible they are, business value, how strong the proof is, what they depend on, effort and the risk of the problem coming back.
Locations, ID numbers and formatting
Linking each location to its ID numbersLink your own permanent location IDs to each platform's listing IDs, web links, Google Place IDs, duplicates, the listing that should stay, merges, redirects and old locations.
Your true details, formatted for each siteKeep your approved details unchanged while fitting them to each directory's fields, category lists, formats, character limits, address display rules and backup options.
Address checks and map pinsCheck the postal address, its parts, map coordinates, pin position and how sure we are of it, while remembering that a valid postal address doesn't mean you qualify for a profile or that it's the address customers should see.
Service areas, departments and practitionersSet up businesses with hidden addresses, public departments, businesses sharing one address and public-facing practitioners without creating profiles that aren't allowed or that compete with each other.
Choosing directories, access and safeguards
Which directories matter and the target listChoose the big, industry, professional, regional, navigation and local sites by how much customers use them, whether you qualify, location, trust, control, cost and how much upkeep they're worth.
Claiming, verification and account recoveryHandle approved claim and verification routes, supporting proof, owner requests, unresolved cases and account recovery, without promising the directory will approve it.
Accounts, user roles and secure sign-in rulesKeep your business as the main owner wherever the platform allows it, and record managers, organization groups, secure sign-in permissions (OAuth), system accounts, recovery methods, giving each person only the access they need and how access is removed when people leave.
Directory quality and protection from scam invoicesLeave out directories that are irrelevant, can't be checked, are duplicated or low quality, and suspicious pay-to-list offers, and check the terms before approving any directory or listing invoice.
Creating, fixing and removing duplicates
Creating and fixing your main listingsPublish or correct the profiles you qualify for on the agreed big search, map, social, navigation and business directory sites, using your approved location details.
Industry, professional and local listingsAdd trusted sources for your industry and area that real customers or people in your profession use, noting whether you qualify, the cost and the upkeep needed.
Adding detail and choosing the right categoriesImprove supported categories, services, features, descriptions, photos, hours, links and action buttons without stuffing in keywords, making false claims or using fields the site doesn't support.
Duplicates, departments and practitionersKeep the locations, departments and practitioners that qualify separate, without creating more and more profiles or pages that contradict each other.
Matching your website, proof and handover
Real local details on every pageGive each location page its real services, people, proof, directions and limits, instead of copying one page and swapping the town name.
Location pages and hidden business labels matchMake sure the name, address, phone, hours, web link, department and service details shown on your site match the approved record and the agreed LocalBusiness schema (hidden labels that tell search engines your business details).
Record of every submission and its live statusRecord the directory, web link, ID, what we sent or changed, how, when, the reply, verification, what the public listing shows, any difference, proof, owner, retries and the last date it was checked.
Listing ownership and handoverHand over user roles you control, listing IDs, web links, logins only where there's no other way, recovery options, outside suppliers you rely on, fees, proof, open issues and instructions for making changes.
Testing, sign-off and finding the cause of errors
Testing with a small group of directories firstSend a typical group of top-priority listings first, watch for failed checks, rejections, formatting problems, duplicates and how listings display live, and improve the rules before sending more widely.
Checking what was accepted and why things differTell apart submitted, processing, accepted, rejected, altered, synced, hidden and live states, and work out whether the cause is your source details, the formatting, a platform rule or the directory itself.
Matching listings to the right businessUse names, addresses, phone numbers, map coordinates, websites, categories, IDs and history to suggest which listings belong together, while sending unclear or high-impact cases to a person to review.
Tracing where wrong details come fromTrace which website, data supplier (aggregator: a company that feeds business data to many directories), public source, user edit, supplier feed or parent platform may be bringing wrong details back, and fix the source where we can.
Growth, rules and changes over time
Following each platform's listing rulesCheck verification, how the business is shown, categories, address and service-area choices against each platform's current rules.
Updating many locations by file or automatic linkCheck bulk files or automatic (API) updates before sending, preview what will change detail by detail, use permanent IDs and updates that are safe to repeat, respect access rights and usage limits, and send failures to a list someone owns.
Process for changes across many locationsSend closures, moves, new hours, services and staff changes to your pages, profiles and listings from one approved record.
Moves, rebrands, closures and practitioner changesPlan start dates, which profile stays, reviews, IDs, redirects, signs, customer messages and how old details are handled for any big change to a business.
Watching for unapproved edits, duplicates, closures and driftCompare your approved details with what the public sees, edits suggested by the public and status changes, then deal with serious conflicts first based on the risk to customers and the business.
Measurement, costs and smarter operations
Tracking where customers came fromUse tagged profile links (links with labels that show where a visit came from), call data and booking results, while respecting the limits of direction-request and view data.
Call tracking that respects privacyUse phone numbers your business controls, call routing, recording and privacy rules, checks that calls keep getting through and safe backups that platforms accept, without breaking the one main phone number for each location.
Data quality, coverage and costs across all locationsReport how complete your approved details are and how accurate they are live, how many directories and locations are covered, risk, manual work, tool fees, the number of problem cases and upkeep cost, always showing the totals behind each figure.
Computer-assisted spotting of listing conflictsUse set rules or models to flag likely wrong details, duplicates and closures, with test cases, confidence levels, explanations and a person making the final call.
Automatic updates when your details change, with a full historyLink approved openings, moves, hours, services, practitioner changes and closures to dated directory updates, with a record of where each detail came from, start dates, change logs and careful retries.
Research and implementation tools

A listings tool can send your details out. It can't decide which business is the real one.

The tools we use depend on your country, directory access, number of locations, the details involved, how often they change and who needs to own them. Naming a tool here doesn't mean we're partners with it, that it covers every site, that directories will accept changes, that it keeps everything in sync forever or that rankings will improve.

What the listings review shows

Seven focused checks uncover wrong details, duplicate listings, weak access and listings nobody has confirmed are live.

Each finding names the location or practitioner, the correct detail, the directory listing, who has access, what needs doing, how we'll check it live and any limits. That way, sending a change is never confused with the directory accepting it or the fix showing live.

Check 01 · Scope and true details

Checking who qualifies, how your business is set up and your location details

We establish which real businesses, locations, departments and practitioners exist, which are allowed a listing and which details are approved for public use.

The result keeps real-world proof, whether the postal address is valid, whether each platform allows a listing and open business decisions apart, instead of creating profiles first and checking later.

What we won't list limitsTurn down fake locations, names stuffed with keywords, practitioners who aren't allowed a listing, suspicious directories and proof that can't be checked.
Check 02 · Listings and access

Checking profiles, ID numbers, ownership and duplicates

We find what already exists and link every public listing to the right location in your records before correcting anything or submitting anything new.

A listing that looks similar could be a duplicate, an old location, a genuine department, a practitioner or a different business, so every match can be reviewed by a person.

List of directories listRecord the platform, profile web link, listing ID, status, details shown and the date we last checked.
Ownership and access accessCheck the main owner, managers, groups, secure sign-in permissions (OAuth), recovery options, supplier accounts and access still held by former staff.
Map of ID numbers matchMap your own IDs, Google Place IDs and directory IDs, showing which listing is the main one and which are duplicates, merged or redirected.
Differences in details accuracyCompare public names, addresses, phone numbers, web links, hours, categories, services and map pins with your approved details.
Possible duplicates fixSort likely duplicates and protect genuine listings, departments, practitioners, reviews, history and the listing that should stay.
Priority list decideRank issues that harm customers, break the rules, affect ownership, show wrong closures or are highly visible, with proof and a named person in charge.
Check 03 · Directory plan

Checking directory value, submission routes and costs

We choose directories because they serve your customers and the way your locations are set up, not because a package advertises a big number of directories.

What's covered, which details are supported, acceptance, syncing, ownership and how long listings last all vary by country, directory, supplier and subscription, so we record them as conditions.

Where customers actually look usefulFind the search, map, navigation, industry, professional and local sources your customers really use.
Who qualifies and where fitCheck the location type, country, industry, language and each directory's own requirements.
How each listing is sent routeChoose an owner claim, a manual edit, a bulk upload, an automatic link (API), a data supplier or an approved partner, and record what each one depends on.

Quality and scam check protectLeave out irrelevant listings, duplicate schemes, sites that can't be checked and suspicious listing invoices.
Check 04 · Claim and publish

Checking verification, new listings and whether changes go live

We arrange approved access and send your approved details, while keeping the proof needed to understand each directory's reply.

Verification and publishing are decided by each directory. Softscotch records the case and follows it up, but cannot guarantee the decision.

Check 05 · Duplicates and website match

Checking duplicates, removal requests and your website

We sort out conflicting listings without wiping out genuine locations, departments, practitioners, reviews or the history behind them.

Reporting a duplicate or asking for a merge is a request, not a guaranteed removal, and website changes need the people who run your website's technical side and content.

Listing that should stay decideIdentify the right business, profile, location page and IDs, and what to do about reviews and history.

Check 06 · Growth and changes over time

Checking bulk updates, changes and drift across many locations

We make openings, moves, hours, services, practitioner changes and closures update reliably across directories, instead of running bulk overwrites that nobody tracks.

Automation handles repeatable formatting and checks; unclear identity, rule, proof and big closure decisions are still reviewed by a real person.

Check 07 · Measurement and handover

Checking listing status, customer actions and running costs

We show what changed in the work, what anyone can see in public and which customer or business signals can be read fairly and honestly.

Profile views, clicks, tracked website visits, calls, bookings and good-quality leads are separate kinds of evidence, and none of them prove that citations caused a result.

Accurate listings depend on the right source details, access, publishing and upkeep.

The first row shows the core steps for managing your location details. The wider system connects your day-to-day operations, website, directories, tracking and rules, so a listing stays useful long after it is first submitted.

The connected growth engine

Operations and location managers

Own the real details: openings, moves, services, staffing, signs, hours, closures and the proof behind each change.

Directories and data platforms

Apply their own rules on who qualifies, data formats, verification, moderation, merges, display, automatic connections, usage limits and fees.

Website, CMS (website editor) and technical SEO

Keep the main location pages, contact details shown on the site, redirects, links between pages and the live hidden business labels up to date.

Local SEO, content and reputation

Own the wider profile strategy, local content, reviews, category and search-term research and local search priorities.

Tracking, phone, booking and CRM

Keep consent-based tracking, call routing and working links in place, remove duplicate records and agree what counts as a good-quality lead.

Legal, compliance and rules

Approve regulated details, proof you qualify, documents, who can act on accounts, supplier terms, how long records are kept and audit needs.

One connected scope. Local Citation Building Services is coordinated with the strategy, creative, experience, data and reporting it depends on, so responsibilities and handoffs stay visible in one written plan.

What to expect

Approved location details come first; directory updates then follow in careful batches.

Once we have your business documents, account access and sign-off from each location's owner, the check of who qualifies and the first version of your location details can usually be delivered within five business days. Submissions and corrections then go out in batches of directories over the first 12 weeks, while verification, reviews, merging duplicates and the spread of changes to other sites follow each platform's own timetable. This work also fits inside the shared six-month Softscotch growth plan below.

Local citation building: your first project cycle

Weeks 1–2

Agreeing scope and who qualifies

Confirm locations, service areas, departments, practitioners, countries, planned changes, business proof, target platforms, deadlines and what we won't list.

KPI Scope agreed
Weeks 2–4

Approving your location record

Agree your main details, their sources, start dates, who owns each detail, how they should appear in public, and any open day-to-day or legal decisions.

KPI True details approved
Weeks 3–6

Directory and route plan

Rank the directories that matter and choose claims, manual edits, bulk uploads, automatic links (API), data suppliers or partner routes, noting limits on details, cost and how long listings last.

KPI Plan approved
Weeks 5–8

First priority batch goes out

Check and submit a typical group of listings, review the replies and how they show in public, and improve formatting, proof and rules for problem cases.

KPI First batch accepted
Weeks 8–10

Monitoring and measurement

Set up drift checks, a way to log changes, status meanings, tagged links, platform figures and clear limits on what counts as a real result.

KPI Regular routine running
Weeks 10–12

Handover and ongoing upkeep

Hand over access, IDs, web links, proof, problem cases, supplier terms, ongoing costs, owners, response times and what should trigger the next review.

KPI Ownership handed over

Our full growth plan (all services together), month by month

Month 1

Foundation and review

We review your whole website, where you rank and your competitors, agree how the site should be organized, and set up hosting, analytics (visitor tracking) and your GoHighLevel lead system. The first agreed pages start going live.

KPI pages live
Month 2

Build and launch

The site is built or rebuilt. Main, service and industry pages go live with on-page SEO, website labels and technical fixes. Your Google Business Profile is improved and lead follow-up automations are switched on.

KPI pages in Google
Month 3

Early rankings, paid ads start

More pages built from templates (programmatic pages) start going live, paid ads and email follow-ups are switched on for early leads, and Google adds your pages to its results as the first rankings usually appear.

KPI search terms ranking
Month 4

Momentum builds

Rankings often start climbing, visits from free search begin to rise, ad spending is tuned to the return it brings (ROAS, return on ad spend), and groups of related articles and links from other sites build your reputation with Google.

KPI visits from search
Month 5

Results start to show

Main search terms can move closer to page one, the first leads from free search often arrive, AI tools may begin to mention you, and testing improvements to your pages (CRO, conversion rate optimization) helps more visitors get in touch.

KPI leads from search
Month 6

Growth builds on itself

Pages that are working are protected and improved, template pages bring in visitors searching for very specific terms, and SEO, ads, email and automation work together to bring steadier leads and sales. Timing varies by market and competition, and no ranking is guaranteed.

KPI leads and sales
How we compare

Proper citation building is careful management of your location details, not a count of submissions.

The difference is a clear trail that links your approved details, the right business, approved access, each directory update, a live check of what the public sees and the next upkeep decision.

The risk of using a different agency for everything
  • Copies the same NAP (name, address and phone) into a long list of directories without checking the source record
  • Creates a listing before checking whether the location, department or practitioner is allowed one
  • Treats a directory's profile ID as the permanent identity of your business and loses the history after a merge or move
  • Picks directories by how many come in a package, not by customer use, location, trust and value for the upkeep
  • Uses agency or staff accounts without you as the main owner, with no recovery options or plan for removing access
  • Reports "submitted" or "synced" as live and correct without looking at the public listing
  • Removes similar listings without protecting genuine departments, practitioners, reviews or old locations and their history
  • Runs bulk updates without comparing changes, permanent IDs, start dates, error lists or a person handling exceptions
  • Shows views, direction requests, clicks, calls and sales as one result caused by citations
  • Promises rankings or AI visibility from consistent listings and hides the limits of each directory, country, tool and subscription
vs
Softscotch
  • Confirms the real business, whether it qualifies, how it should appear in public, the proof and who owns each detail first
  • Builds a dated record of your location details and keeps your main details separate from each directory's formatting
  • Links permanent internal IDs to platform IDs, web links, duplicates, merges, redirects and old locations
  • Ranks search, map, navigation, industry and local directories by fit, control, cost and value to your customers
  • Uses approved owner, manager, organization, secure sign-in (OAuth) or supported partner routes and records recovery and handover
  • Keeps submissions and replies, then checks whether each change was accepted, rejected, altered, pending, hidden or live
  • Uses proof and a person's review of the business before asking for any duplicate, practitioner or department change
  • Checks bulk and automatic updates first, prevents duplicate listings being created and sends unclear or failed changes to owners
  • Keeps record quality, directory checks, tracked website visits, calls, bookings and good-quality leads separate
  • Is upfront about limits on acceptance, verification, rankings, AI mentions, country coverage, directory support and how long listings last

Ethical, transparent, always on

One accountable team, strictly white-hat (only methods search engines and platforms allow), no shortcuts and no surprises. Support whenever you need it.

One plan, full-stack access

One Softscotch plan gives you access to the full service stack, coordinated around your priorities.

You do not need a separate agency or retainer for every channel. Your plan can draw from search, paid media, web, ecommerce, outreach, automation, lead generation, messaging, content, creative and operations. The agreed scope sets what is active, in what order and at what capacity.

Pricing approach

One price for everything, not a stack of separate retainers.

You get one price for your whole marketing, not a separate retainer for every service. SEO, paid ads, your website, automations, cold email and newsletters, we run all of it as a single scope, so you get the most result for what you pay. Agencies sell each of these on its own, so the invoice climbs whether or not that line drives a single lead.

Bought separately, service by service

A different agency or retainer for each service. The bill stacks up fast, and keeps climbing whether or not each one moves a single lead.

We run your whole marketing as one engagement, so you get the most result for what you pay, not a pile of disconnected invoices.

Questions, answered

Citation building questions to settle with us before any submissions start.

These answers cover who qualifies, directories, NAP (your business name, address and phone number), claiming listings, verification, duplicates, ownership, moves, automation, matching your website, measurement, AI search, timing, price and guarantees.

Filter
What is included in your local citation building services?

The work can include checking which locations and businesses qualify, a review of your listings and who owns them, one approved record of your location details, a directory plan, a check of where your competitors are listed, help with claims and verification, your main listings plus relevant industry or local ones, corrections, adding detail to profiles, handling duplicates and practitioners, checking that your website and hidden business labels (LocalBusiness schema) match, records of every submission, live checks, monitoring, reporting and handover. Your proposal names the locations, countries, directories, details, tools, ongoing fees and upkeep included.

What is a local citation?

A local citation is any mention of your business or location online, usually with its name, address and phone number, and sometimes its website, hours, categories, services, features, photos or action buttons. Citations appear on search engines, maps, navigation apps, social media, industry sites and directories. Being accurate and relevant matters far more than the total number of directories.

Which directories will you submit our business to?

We start with the big search, map and navigation platforms, then choose trusted industry, professional, regional and local sites that suit your country, type of business and how your customers find you. Our target list records how relevant each one is, whether you qualify, which details it accepts, how we submit, cost, who owns the listing and upkeep. We don't buy irrelevant listings just to make the number bigger.

Does our NAP (name, address and phone) need to be written exactly the same everywhere?

Your actual business details must be correct and clearly match, but directories use different address formats, category lists, data formats and limits. We keep one approved master record and write down how it's adapted for each site. Small differences like punctuation are not treated as seriously as a wrong business, phone number, address, web link, hours or open and closed status.

Can you create a profile for a virtual office or a business that travels to customers?

Only when your business and location meet the platform's rules. Google doesn't accept PO boxes or mailboxes at remote locations, only accepts co-working spaces under certain conditions, and has specific rules on hiding your address and setting service areas. We look at how your business really works, and the proof, first. We won't create fake locations or locations that aren't allowed.

Do you claim and verify Google, Apple, Bing and Yelp listings?

We can help with claims, access and the supported verification methods for the platforms in your plan, using accounts, user roles and proof that you've approved. Your business should stay the main owner wherever the platform allows it. Each platform decides which verification methods are available and makes the final decision, so we can't guarantee verification or that your listing will be published.

Who owns the listings and login access after the project?

You should keep main ownership, recovery methods and long-term organization access wherever the platform allows it. We write down owners, managers, secure sign-in permissions (OAuth) or system accounts, listing IDs, web links, logins only where there's no other way, outside suppliers you rely on and how access is removed. Paying for a listings tool is not the same as owning the listing on each directory.

Can you remove duplicate business listings?

We check likely duplicates, decide which listing should stay and collect the proof each platform asks for before we request a removal, merge or correction. We also protect genuine branches, departments, practitioners, old locations, reviews and IDs. Each directory decides whether and how the listing changes, so we can't guarantee whether or when a duplicate is removed or merged.

How do you handle practitioner and department listings?

We map how your real facilities, departments and individual practitioners relate to each other and follow each platform's current rules. Public-facing departments and practitioners can sometimes have their own listing, but support staff, or several profiles for one person just because they have different specialties, may not be allowed. Your compliance and operations teams approve the details and the proof that they qualify.

What happens when a location moves, rebrands or closes?

We create a dated plan covering the main profile, website address and redirects, IDs, reviews, signs, phone and booking links, directory updates and messages to customers. Temporary and permanent closures are handled differently. We don't automatically create a new profile, because Google specifically warns against doing that for some moves and changes of ownership.

Do you use bulk uploads, APIs or listing-management software?

Yes, when your number of locations, how often details change, your country and platform access make it worthwhile. We can work with approved bulk files, APIs (secure links between software systems) or listing platforms, and we write down what they cover, which details, fees and what happens if you cancel. The process uses permanent IDs, checks, side-by-side previews of each change, duplicate prevention, start dates, a reply for every record, retries and a person handling exceptions. No tool covers every directory or guarantees a change goes live.

Is Google Business Profile optimization included?

This service covers the location details, checking who qualifies, claiming and access, core profile details, listing corrections, duplicates, adding supported detail and the day-to-day controls needed for citations. Wider profile strategy, posts, reviews, local search-term research, local pages, link building and map ranking checks belong to local SEO or other named services unless your proposal includes them.

Will you update our website and LocalBusiness schema too?

We match your approved listing details with your main location pages and can set out what the LocalBusiness schema (hidden labels that tell search engines your business details) should contain. Writing content, redirects, templates, getting pages into Google's index and making code changes need your website and technical SEO teams unless they're included. Schema must match what's visible on the page and doesn't guarantee special search results (rich results).

Will citations improve our Google local rankings?

Accurate and complete business details can help customers trust you, help search engines recognize your business clearly and support wider local SEO work. But Google says local results are mainly based on relevance, distance and prominence (how well known your business is), and that there is no way to request or pay for a better local ranking. We don't guarantee a spot in Google's local map results, traffic, leads or sales from citation changes.

Do consistent listings make us appear in ChatGPT or other AI answers?

Accurate public details can help search engines, maps, navigation apps and AI answer tools recognize your business correctly, but no listings program can guarantee you'll be included or mentioned in a particular AI answer. We keep your important details visible, well structured, backed by sources and consistent. Testing what AI tools say about you belongs to a separate AI search visibility service.

How do you measure citation building?

We keep how complete your master record is, directory coverage, claim and verification status, public accuracy, duplicates, problem cases and how quickly changes go live separate from profile views and actions, tracked website visits, calls, bookings and good-quality leads. Each figure keeps its source, date, total and limits. A before-and-after change doesn't prove that citations caused the business result.

How long does citation cleanup and building take?

Timing depends on how many locations and practitioners you have, the countries, how many errors exist now, access, verification, how long directories take to review changes, proof for duplicates, moves or closures, website dependencies and whether updates are manual, bulk or automatic. A review and master record can be done quickly, while verification, merges and directory reviews can take longer than the first project cycle.

How is local citation building priced?

Your price depends on how many locations and businesses you have, the countries, the directories targeted, how good your data is, access and verification work, manual submissions, duplicates and changes, platform or supplier fees, website matching, monitoring, reporting and upkeep. The quote separates one-time work, ongoing listing distribution or software, what we need from you, related services and results that only directories control.
