Guest Posting & Niche Edit Services
Earn a place on trusted websites by helping their readers, not by buying links to game rankings.
We'll reply with a written proposal: the work, what we need from you and an estimated timeline.
Guest posting fails when a link score matters more than the reader.
Before doing more, we check Google's rules, how useful your page is, whether the publication is genuine, the context of the article, who wrote it, how outreach is done, disclosure and the live page.
The program starts with a link quota
A monthly number of placements is approved before the team can explain who the reader is, why your page is worth linking to, why the publisher fits or what honest editorial reason Google would accept.
"Authority" scores replace real checks on publishers
A single domain score hides who owns the site, drifting topics, sites that charge outside writers, a reused past, patterns of links to other sites, disclosure and signs of a link network.
Niche edits are treated as old pages with links for sale
A sentence is squeezed into an existing article because the page is old or ranks well, not because the update fixes, backs up or truly improves the article.
Keyword link text decides the wording
A required keyword phrase makes the article read awkwardly and can reveal a pattern of paid or manipulative links.
No real expert, and no trail of sources to check
Generic rewrites, fake author names, weak sources and hidden AI use produce an article that can't stand up to an editor's or a fact checker's review.
A live web address is reported as a result
Link labels, disclosure, official-version and robots settings, redirects, content changes, visitors, search trends and the limits of proving cause all disappear behind a simple count of placements.
What is included in our Guest Posting and Niche Edit Services.
Softscotch helps your organization get useful articles, and genuine updates to existing articles, published on relevant websites run by other people. We check whether the page on your site is worth pointing readers to, research the publication and its editor, write original articles based on real expert knowledge, contact editors in a fair and honest way and keep a record of exactly what was accepted, published and later changed. We don't sell links meant to game rankings, access to private blog networks (groups of sites built only to sell links) or guaranteed placements. Publishers always decide what they accept, how they edit it, how they mark the link and how long it stays up.
The first eight cards describe the work this service can cover. Your proposal lists the markets, the pages we link to, types of article, number of opportunities, writing, outreach, reviews and monitoring. The last two cards show related services that are priced separately unless included.
Fit, Google rules and starting point
We review your goals, existing links and mentions, past campaigns, any Google penalties, your target pages, publisher relationships, business deals, risks, tracking and when this service is not a fit.
Your pages and opportunity map
We choose useful, accurate pages on your site that work properly, and map audience questions, content gaps, how your business is described, article formats, link wording options and links from your own pages.
Checking publishers and their pages
We research ownership, focus, audience, how the site accepts outside writers, editorial standards, topic history, disclosure, links to other sites, technical state, signs the site was repurposed and link network risk.
Articles, real experts and evidence
We create guest posts or genuine updates to existing articles with original value, real authors, approved facts, a clear trail of sources, rights, accessibility and edits for each publisher.
Personal outreach and working with editors
We send relevant pitches, record where contacts came from, use a real sender, limit follow-ups, respect the do-not-contact list and handle replies, fact checks and edits, with no unattended spam and no made-up relationships.
Disclosure, publishing and link checks
We label each relationship as earned, written by us, sponsored or affiliate, and check visible disclosure, how the link appears, the link address (`href`), link labels, the state of both pages and dated proof.
Monitoring and results update
We track changes to placements and your pages, links and mentions, how long placements last, visitors, search trends for the main page, approved later results, risks and the next decision to continue, fix or stop.
Your approval before anything goes out
We share each proposed publisher, the article idea and the page on your site we plan to link to for your approval. We share the final draft again before it goes to the editor, so nothing appears under your name without your sign-off.
We keep value for readers, editors' independence and the live result linked together.
Your page, the article, the publication, the editor, the outreach, any business relationship, the live link and the results report all stay connected. We never treat "authority" scores from outside tools as Google's rules or as proof.
"Not a fit" is a valid answer
We may point a request toward Digital PR, your own content, technical SEO, fixing bad links or no campaign at all when guest posting can't offer real value to readers.
Your page has to work first
The page we link to must be accurate, useful, accessible and ready for visitors. A link in an article can't fix a page that is thin, misleading, redirected or has a broken sign-up or purchase path.
Real editorial standards matter more than a score
Ownership, audience, standards, a steady topic focus, how the site accepts outside writers, disclosure and the article's context matter more than any tool's own domain score.
Niche edits need a real reason to update
We suggest corrections, current sources, missing explanations or truly useful resources, not paid links squeezed in because a page is old or used to rank well.
Every business tie is labeled clearly
Payments, affiliate terms, gifts, outside-writer status and editorial control stay visible, so disclosure and link labels can be reviewed properly.
Results come with their limits
We report publishing status, visitors and search trends without claiming that one link caused a ranking, lead, sale or mention in an AI tool.
The 36 decisions behind honest, careful guest post outreach.
The work moves from fit and choosing your pages, through publisher research, expert-led writing, outreach, live checks, monitoring and measurement, to carefully controlled use of automation.
Tools spot useful clues. Editors and evidence decide whether an opportunity is genuine.
The search, backlink, traffic, web archive, outreach, analytics and monitoring tools shown are examples, not partners. Each one has its own data, scores, coverage, terms and update speed, so no tool can guarantee a publisher is good.
Seven checks show where an article could lose relevance, trust or safety under Google's rules.
Each check links the reader's need, your facts, whether the publisher is genuine, fair contact, the live result and the limits of what we can measure to a named owner and a check that the work is done.
Fit, link history and Google rules check
We decide whether guest posting is a sensible next step and uncover any risks from past link building before outreach begins.
A request for links can hide other issues: a weak page on your site, thin content of your own, a better fit for Digital PR, a Google penalty or a hope to buy ranking value. This first check is allowed to say no.
Target page, link and mention opportunity check
We give each article a useful page to link to, and we understand how other sites already mention and link to you.
A relevant publisher can't make up for a page on your site that is thin, wrong, hard to use, redirected, technically unclear or unrelated to what the reader of the article actually needs.
Publisher, outside-writer policy and page quality check
We tell apart a real editorial opportunity from a site that resells links, has been repurposed or puts you at risk under Google's rules.
Domain and traffic scores come from different tools that each see only part of the web. They can't reveal every risk around ownership, editorial standards, link selling or history, and they never replace a person checking the site.
Topic, expert, source and writing quality check
We prove that the proposed article or update adds something the publisher's readers can actually use.
A polished draft can still be a thin copy, an unproven claim, hidden promotion or a fake author name. Article quality has to hold up to checks on sources, rights and who wrote it.
Contacts, pitch, sender and editor workflow check
We reach a relevant editor with an honest article idea and respect each person's choice to say no.
Even personal, hand-written outreach can be spam or misleading. A real sender, where the contact came from, the type of recipient, which region's rules apply, relevance, follow-ups and the do-not-contact list must all stay clear.
Disclosure, live link and page status check
We confirm what actually went live, under what kind of relationship and with which technical limits.
A web address in a spreadsheet doesn't show whether the article is disclosed, accurate, visible to Google, set as the official version, useful in context, accessible or still pointing to the page that was agreed.
How long it lasts, value, risk and next-step check
After publishing, we keep changes to placements, and what they mean for your business, in plain view.
Search engines, publishers, articles, links and pages change. A rise in visitors or rankings after publishing can help you decide, but it rarely proves that one placement caused it.
From a link quota to an article program built on evidence.
A link quota and a minimum "domain score" become the whole campaign, while readers, real editorial standards and honest relationships are taken for granted.
- A score approves the publisherNobody checks ownership, audience, how the site accepts outside writers, history, disclosure, link selling or the context of the page.
- The link decides the articleA keyword link and a sales page are squeezed in before anyone finds a real reader need or an article worth publishing.
- Publishing ends the workThe live web address is counted without labeling the relationship, checking the technical state, watching whether it lasts or admitting the limits of the results.
Fit, useful target pages, evidence about publishers and original articles guide fair, honest outreach.
- The opportunity earns the briefThe article fills a real gap for the audience and links to a useful, accurate page that is kept up to date.
- The publisher passes our checksPurpose, ownership, standards, history, how it accepts outside writers, disclosure and page state are reviewed together.
- The author and evidence are realExperience, author name, claims, sources, rights, limits and approvals can all be traced before the article is sent.
Checks after publishing, watching for changes and honest, limited measurement keep the program on track after an article is accepted.
- The live result can be checkedDisclosure, author, context, link address (`href`), link labels and the state of both pages are kept with dated proof.
- Important changes lead to actionRemovals, rewrites, noindex, changes to the official page version, errors on your page and changes at the publisher each go to a named decision.
- More outreach needs evidenceValue to readers, editor replies, visitors, search trends, cost and risk guide whether we continue, change, pause or stop.
A believable article changes with the subject, the evidence and what is at stake if it's wrong.
Our core method stays the same, while the depth of expertise, claims, publishers, rights, disclosures, reviews and suitable target pages change by industry.
Ecommerce and retail
Share real knowledge about products, categories, materials, care, comparisons and running a store, without making up reviews or trading free products for links meant to boost rankings.
Software companies (SaaS)
Place articles written by people who do the work, on workflows, integrations (connecting tools together), security, switching systems and your category, where real product and setup evidence can back up the reader's needs.
Business-to-business (B2B) and professional services
Turn specialist experience into useful articles that answer complex buying and setup questions, while any conflicts of interest and professional limits stay clear.
Local businesses and businesses with many locations
Share genuine local knowledge on safety, upkeep, planning and the community, without mixing up editorial articles with directory listings or tricks to boost local reviews.
Healthcare and wellness
Use qualified authors, original research, honest limits and easy-to-read content for topics where mistakes can cause real harm, while medical claims still get checked by a specialist.
Finance, insurance and legal
Create expert articles for each region that are clear about your status, fees, risks and sources, while regulated advice and comparison claims still get proper approval.
Education and training
Share knowledge about programs, teaching methods, skills and the job market, while accreditation, student results and your institution's status stay up to date.
Travel and hospitality
Create first-hand articles about destinations, trip planning, accessibility and how things work, without passing off free stays, affiliate deals or promotion of your rooms or tours as independent advice.
Marketplaces and directories
Use honest experience from both buyers and sellers and real category evidence, without rigging "best of" lists, hiding business deals or exposing users' personal data.
Publishers, creators and media companies
Share knowledge about reporting, production, audiences and formats, while archives, rights, republishing deals, paywalls and editorial independence stay clear.
Nonprofits and public-interest organizations
Share program and subject knowledge without exploiting the people you serve, overstating your impact or hiding funder and partner relationships.
Large companies working across many markets
Coordinate authors, brands, products, regions, publishers and the people who own risk, while article, disclosure and monitoring records stay consistent and easy to compare.
We run the agreed article and outreach work. Publishers keep editorial control.
The three columns separate our research and delivery from related SEO and PR work, and from the factual, legal, privacy, business and risk decisions that stay with your team.
The research, articles, outreach and monitoring agreed in your scope.
- Review fit, any rule problems, past link campaigns, your pages, existing links and mentions, publisher opportunities, risks and tracking
- Build page priorities, article opportunities, natural places for a link, publisher standards, evidence briefs and approval steps
- Research publishers, editors, the pages a link would sit on, who owns the site, its history, how it accepts outside writers, its disclosures and whether it sells links
- Write approved articles and relevant updates to existing articles, and handle personal outreach, replies, edits and fact checks with editors
- Check the type of relationship, disclosure, author, context, the link as it actually appears, the state of both pages, and keep dated proof
- Watch for important changes and report on editor replies, how long placements last, visitors, search trends, risks and the next decision
Some of the work needs approved technical and specialist owners.
- Work with Digital PR for newsworthy campaigns that earn coverage, and with Backlink Audit for old link risks, link removals, disavow files (asking Google to ignore certain links) and manual actions (penalties applied by Google staff)
- Work with Content Strategy, specialist writers, editors, researchers, designers and accessibility and translation experts when they are needed separately
- Work with the people who handle technical SEO, your CMS (website editor), analytics, official page versions, redirects, how pages load and changes to your target pages
- Work with your CRM, store and sales owners on how later results are defined, without turning the link service into a sales-tracking project
- Work with legal, privacy, advertising, medical, financial, security and other qualified reviewers
- Handle publisher questions, factual corrections and records of business relationships, while respecting that editors make their own decisions
Your organization keeps the final say on facts, business choices, rules and risk.
- Approve goals, audiences, markets, the pages we link to, types of articles, publishers, volume, expected results and what is not a fit
- Give us accurate information about your organization, products, services, experts, customers, research, business relationships and past link campaigns
- Approve claims, sources, authors, author bios, quotes, data, images, drafts, edits, fact checks and corrections
- Approve how we contact people, the legal basis for using their data, disclosures, rights, how long data is kept, paid or affiliate deals and publisher contracts
- Approve legal, regulatory, security, reputation, customer-impact and Google penalty decisions
- Keep final control over accounts, experts, any payments or gifts to publishers, how much risk you accept, budgets and business results
Every live placement should trace back to a useful article and forward to a page on your site that is kept up to date.
The system links your target pages, publisher evidence, experts, sources, outreach, editor changes, disclosure, links as they appear, changes to placements, visitors and search trends.

The connected growth engine
Handles original research campaigns, working with journalists, planned and quick-response press coverage you earn and wider communication results beyond guest articles.
Handles a deep review of your past links from several data sources, evidence of fake or bought links, records of removal requests, careful use of disavow files, Google penalties and recovery.
Handles the wider set of articles on your own website, and deeper or regulated topics, when a guest article needs separate expert knowledge.
Handles site-wide issues such as how Google reads and loads your pages, official page versions, site moves, speed, accessibility and target page changes, beyond our placement checks.
Handles testing whether AI tools mention or cite you for a set of questions, where AI answers get their sources and dated tracking of those answers, when visibility in AI tools is the main goal.
You keep control of the facts, rights, privacy, paid relationships and risk. Publishers keep control of what they accept, editing, how disclosure is shown, links and removal.
One connected scope. Guest Posting and Niche Edit Services is coordinated with the strategy, creative, experience, data and reporting it depends on, so responsibilities and handoffs stay visible in one written plan.
Your article and outreach timeline, and the full growth program.
Guest Posting and Niche Edits starts with a review of Google's rules and your pages, moves to an approved round of outreach, then supports editors' decisions and checks anything that gets published. We can't guarantee publisher interest, acceptance, edits or when something will be published. The program sits inside the six-month Softscotch growth program shown below.

The difference shows in the work we turn down, useful target pages, genuine publications, original articles, fair outreach, open business relationships, live checks and careful measurement.
- Starts with a monthly link quota and a "domain score" range
- Picks sites from resold link lists or online link marketplaces
- Treats traffic, site age or being in Google's index as proof a site has real editorial standards
- Uses niche edits as paid links squeezed into old articles, with no check that they help the reader
- Lets demands for exact keyword link text create awkward sentences and poor target pages
- Produces thin rewrites with weak sources, fake author names or hidden use of AI
- Sends mass template emails with no clear source for contacts and no do-not-contact list
- Hides payment, affiliate terms or the fact the writer is an outside contributor behind normal article styling
- Reports a live web address or a "dofollow" link (one that passes ranking value) as a lasting result
- Gives placements credit for rankings, traffic or revenue without admitting the limits of that credit
- Starts with whether the service fits, value to the audience, your history, the rules and a real option to say it isn't a fit
- Builds a list of publishers from evidence about topics, audience, experts and editorial opportunities
- Reviews ownership, standards, history, how the site accepts outside writers, disclosure, whether it sells links and the state of the page
- Only suggests an update to an existing article if it fixes an error, backs up a claim, adds a current source or explains something useful that is missing
- Uses short, natural link wording and a page on your site that truly helps the reader
- Uses real experts, claims that can be traced, a clear record of sources, rights, checks for copied text and human approval
- Sends honest, personal outreach with known contact sources, a real sender, respect for objections and a do-not-contact list
- Labels every business relationship and checks for clear disclosure and the right link labels (such as sponsored or nofollow)
- Keeps dated records of the article, link, publisher page and your page, and decides what to do when something important changes
- Keeps publishing, visitors, search and business results apart, and is honest about how hard it is to prove cause

Ethical, transparent, always on
One accountable team, strictly white-hat (only methods search engines and platforms allow), no shortcuts and no surprises. Support whenever you need it.
One Softscotch plan gives you access to the full service stack, coordinated around your priorities.
You do not need a separate agency or retainer for every channel. Your plan can draw from search, paid media, web, ecommerce, outreach, automation, lead generation, messaging, content, creative and operations. The agreed scope sets what is active, in what order and at what capacity.
One price for everything, not a stack of separate retainers.
You get one price for your whole marketing, not a separate retainer for every service. SEO, paid ads, your website, automations, cold email and newsletters, we run all of it as a single scope, so you get the most result for what you pay. Agencies sell each of these on its own, so the invoice climbs whether or not that line drives a single lead.
A different agency or retainer for each service. The bill stacks up fast, and keeps climbing whether or not each one moves a single lead.
Plus the one-off build, and a fresh contract, kickoff and onboarding delay for every new service you add.
We run your whole marketing as one engagement, so you get the most result for what you pay, not a pile of disconnected invoices.
- SEO: technical, on-page, content, local and AI search
- Template-built pages (programmatic SEO), links from other websites (backlinks) and authority
- CRO and landing pages
- Paid ads across Google and Meta
- Automations, cold email and newsletters
- WordPress build, setup and ongoing care
- One team, one roadmap and one point of contact
- Reporting tied to qualified leads and revenue
Priced to your site after the audit. No sticker price, and no per-service creep.
What you need to know before you pay for guest post or niche edit outreach.
These answers cover fit, Google's rules, publishers, niche edits, link wording, content, outreach, disclosure, link labels, AI, measurement, timing, pricing, removed links and ownership.
What is included in Guest Posting and Niche Edit Services?
The scope can include a check of fit and Google's rules, a starting record of your current links and mentions, choosing the pages to link to, research on publishers and the pages a link would sit on, planning guest posts or updates to existing articles, preparing experts and sources, writing, your approval of each publisher and draft, personal outreach, edits, checks on disclosure and links, monitoring and results reporting. Your proposal names the markets, pages, article types, publisher standards, volume, writing, approvals and monitoring.
Does Google still allow guest posting?
Writing useful articles for other websites does not break Google's rules on its own. Google's current spam policies ban links made mainly to manipulate rankings. That includes paid posts with links that pass ranking value, and large guest posting campaigns stuffed with keyword-rich link text. Articles should serve readers, and any paid or sponsored link should be clearly disclosed and labeled (for example with a "sponsored" or "nofollow" tag). We don't sell ranking links dressed up as normal articles.
What is a niche edit, and when will you suggest one?
A niche edit is a suggested update to an article that is already published on someone else's site, usually adding a link. We only treat it as genuine when it fixes a fact, adds up-to-date proof, fills a real gap in the explanation or points readers to a truly useful resource. The age of the page, its rankings or the fact that someone is selling space on it are not good enough reasons. The publisher decides whether and how to update the article.
Do you buy links or use private blog networks?
No. We don't buy links to boost rankings, use PBNs (private blog networks: groups of sites built only to sell links), create links automatically, trade products or services for links that aren't disclosed, or pass off resold publisher lists as real outreach. If you separately agree to a sponsored placement, it must be open, checked under contract, clearly disclosed and its link labeled correctly. We report it apart from links that were earned or chosen freely by editors.
Can you guarantee dofollow links, publication, rankings or that links stay up?
No. Publishers choose whether to accept, edit, disclose, link, label, update or remove an article. Search engines decide how they find, store and judge pages and links. We can commit to the agreed research, writing, outreach, checks and monitoring. We can't promise publication, "dofollow" links (links that pass ranking value), that Google will index the page, rankings, traffic, revenue, mentions in AI tools or that a link will stay up forever.
How do you check a guest post publisher?
We review fit with audience and topic, who owns the site, the real people responsible, editorial and correction standards, how the site accepts outside writers, disclosure, content quality, topic history, whether it sells links, the pattern of links going out to other sites, the state of the page and signs of reused old domains or link networks. Traffic and "authority" scores from outside tools are dated clues, not proof that a site is safe or valuable.
How do you choose which pages to link to and the link wording?
The page on your site must be accurate, useful, accessible, working properly and relevant to the article's reader. Anchor text (the clickable words of a link) should be short, clear and natural in its sentence. Your brand name, a product or company name, the web address or a topic phrase can all work. We don't force exact keyword phrases or send every link to a sales page.
Do you write the guest posts?
Yes, when writing is included. We create a brief for each publisher, use a real approved author, check claims and original sources, add first-hand experience or analysis, check rights and copied text and manage edits from you, specialists and editors. Regulated or very technical topics may need a qualified author from your team or a specialist writer priced separately.
How do you handle sponsored, affiliate or free-product relationships?
Before anything is published, we record any payment, affiliate terms, gifts, free products and other ties that could affect what is said. Required disclosures must be clear and placed with the article, and paid links may need a `sponsored` or `nofollow` label so they don't pass ranking value. The relationship stays in our reports and is never presented as a fully independent editorial recommendation.
How do you manage outreach to publishers?
We confirm the current editor or the right way to submit, record where we found the contact and why they are relevant, use a real sender name and honest subject lines and explain the specific gap for their audience, the article idea, the expert and the evidence. Follow-ups are limited, objections and opt-outs are respected and the do-not-contact list is shared across your whole approved program. We never pretend to know someone or run unattended mass pitching.
Does CAN-SPAM apply to business-to-business outreach?
The FTC (the US Federal Trade Commission) says CAN-SPAM (the US law on commercial email) covers commercial email and has no exception for business-to-business email. The basics in the US are an accurate sender and subject line, required business details such as a postal address, a working way to opt out and honoring opt-outs quickly. Other countries and types of recipients can need a different privacy and email marketing review, so you or your qualified legal advisers make the final policy decision.
What technical checks happen after an article is published?
We check the visible author, date, disclosure, the relevant passage, the text around the link, the link wording, the link address (`href`), labels such as sponsored or nofollow, any redirects, how it looks on mobile, whether the page loads, its official-version and robots settings, whether it is set to "noindex" (hidden from Google) and the final state of your page. We usually can't use Google Search Console to inspect another publisher's site, so we say exactly which Google indexing signals we could and couldn't see.
How do you measure guest post and niche edit work?
We report good opportunities, editor replies, accepted articles, the type of relationship, the live technical state, how long placements last, visits that can be traced to the article and approved later actions, plus search trends for the main page and for your brand name. Search Console and analytics tools have limits on sampling, coverage and how they credit visits. We don't claim one link caused a ranking, lead or sale unless there is a fair way to test it.
What happens if a link is removed or changed?
We compare the current publisher page, link and your page with the dated record from when it went live. Then we label what happened: removed, rewritten, a change to disclosure or link labels, set to noindex, a change to the official page version, a change at the publisher or a problem on your page. The response might be no action, a factual correction, a follow-up with the publisher, fixing your page, refreshing the content, flagging the risk or stopping. We don't replace links automatically if that would recreate a weak or manipulative placement.
Do you use AI to find publishers or write articles?
AI can help with approved tasks such as grouping sources, matching names, sorting possible publishers or drafting, when access to sources and data handling are acceptable. A person checks every publisher, editor, fact, source, author and claim, and reviews copied text and the final wording. We never invent people or relationships, collect data we aren't allowed to, pretend to be editors or let an AI tool send outreach on its own.
Do you include link removal or disavow work?
Not as part of normal guest post work. If evidence points to serious risk from fake or bought links, or to a manual action (a penalty applied by Google staff), we keep the history and pass the case to our Backlink Audit team and the approved owners on your side. Google describes its disavow tool (a way to ask Google to ignore certain links) as an advanced feature that can harm your search performance if used incorrectly, so it needs its own evidence and approval process.
How long does a guest post campaign take?
This page shows an example 12-week first cycle, not a promise of publication. Timing depends on fixes to your pages, access to experts, how quickly publishers reply, editorial calendars, how in-depth the articles are, edits, regulated reviews and the number of markets. Some opportunities close quickly, while others are declined or never get an answer. Your proposal sets milestones once the things the work depends on are known.
How are Guest Posting and Niche Edit Services priced?
Pricing follows how many pages and markets are included, publisher research, the number of opportunities and outreach, expert and source work, writing, edits, translation, compliance review, live checks, monitoring and reporting. Software, specialist writing, translation, legal review and any separately approved sponsored costs are shown separately. Our fee is not a payment for guaranteed links, publishers, rankings or revenue.
