Digital PR for AI Search Visibility

Earn real media coverage that makes your business easier to find and trust in AI search.

We'll reply with a written proposal: the work, what we need from you and an estimated timeline.

The hidden AI PR problems

A business can pile up press coverage and still learn nothing about how it shows up in AI search.

We check whether outside proof about your business is missing, contradictory, poorly sourced or simply absent from the buyer questions and AI tools that matter. We keep mentions, links, citations (when an AI tool lists a source), whether the source really backs up the answer, visitors and business results apart.

  • Your claims have no outside backing

Your product and service pages make important claims, but no original research, expert source or relevant outside site confirms that exact point.

  • Your profiles and coverage disagree

Your company name, product categories, locations, leaders' bios, dates and claims don't match across your own pages, directories, interviews and articles.

  • A data story goes out without a solid method

A headline is chosen before anyone checks that who was studied, the sample, how data was collected, what was left out, the calculations, how certain the results are, who paid for it, who owns the data and its limits can stand up to an editor's review.

  • Website scores replace real outlet fit

A media list is ranked by a website "authority" score, while the journalist's topic, recent work, readers, region, how they pick sources and the buyer question they might answer are never checked.

  • Outreach turns into mass email

Generic pitches, contacts scraped from the web, misleading subject lines, repeated follow-ups and ignored complaints hurt whether your emails arrive, damage relationships and make the whole campaign look less genuine.

  • One AI answer gets treated as a result

A single screenshot of an AI answer is reported as a "rank" or as proof that PR worked, without noting the AI tool, date, market, account, exact wording, the page it cited, whether that page backs up the answer, repeated checks, visitors or business context.

Scope

Our Digital PR for AI search services: seven areas of work that turn your business facts into a believable media program.

More and more buyers ask AI tools like ChatGPT or Google's AI answers for advice. Those tools often lean on trusted outside sources, such as news articles and research. Softscotch helps you turn your approved expertise, research and true product facts into proof that relevant journalists can check and choose to cover. We find the buyer questions and the gaps in outside sources worth filling, prepare material ready for journalists, contact the right people carefully, check what gets published and track what we see across the AI search tools we agree on. Your proposal lists the markets, research and material, outreach, approvals, tracking and outside costs included. Publishers and AI tools stay in control of coverage, links and which sources they cite.

Your proposal picks the buyer questions, markets, AI tools, research and material, experts, types of publishers, how much outreach we do, how long we track results, the handover and who approves what across these eight areas. Regular PR, AI SEO for your own website, paid promotion and specialist review stay separate unless they are listed as line items.

AI citation and sources review

We map buyer questions, the AI tools that answer them, your current mentions and citations, the pages that get cited, the types of sources, competitors' proof, whether answers are accurate, gaps and the limits of measurement, saving dated records of what we saw.

Claims, business facts and proof

We make facts about your organization, people, products, services and locations match everywhere, and link every important claim to an approved source, method, owner, date, limits and a way to correct it.

Original research and source material

We develop data studies, expert analysis, benchmarks (fair comparisons against a standard), methods, charts, tables, online press room material and downloadable proof that is useful beyond a single pitch and clear about who paid for it and its limits.

Journalist, expert and outlet research

We check what journalists cover, their recent articles, readers, regions, preferred sources, editorial standards and conflicts. We prepare relevant experts with quotes, qualifications, availability and clear limits for interviews.

#1

Honest outreach to earn coverage

We write relevant pitches and replies, and manage approved contact details, how often we follow up, opt-outs, interviews, fact checks and handing over material. We never pay for coverage or send automated spam.

{}

Checking coverage, sources and corrections

We check names, claims, credit, whether the proof backs it up, disclosures, links, the main version of the source page, whether search and AI bots can read it, accessibility, copies on other sites and corrections, while respecting publishers' independence.

Tracking AI citations, visitors and results

We rerun an approved set of questions for each AI tool and market, check mentions, citations and whether sources back up the claims, group copies of the same source and link visitors and good-quality results, without claiming PR caused more than it did.

Handover so your team can keep going

We hand over the dated records, journalist and outlet notes, approved claims and proof, the coverage log and the set of AI questions, with a short guide. Your team can then keep the work going or brief another partner later.

Why Softscotch

We give journalists something worth checking, not another mass email pitch.

Buyer questions, believable claims, openly shared methods, useful source material, well-prepared experts and relevant outreach all stay linked. We then report coverage, how you show up in AI search, visitors to your site and sales results as different signals, not as one inflated success number.

Your starting point can be checked again later

We keep the exact questions, reworded versions, AI tools, market, date, account settings, answers, mentions and cited pages, instead of squeezing results that change from day to day into one "rank".

Claims start with where they came from

Names, dates, numbers, methods, expert statements, limits, rights and who approves them are settled before they become press material or a pitch.

Real outlet fit matters more than a website score

The journalist's topic, current work, readers, region, the question they answer and the kind of source they need guide our outreach. Publishers stay free to reject, edit, link, remove or correct.

Unpaid, sponsored and copied coverage stay separate

We record payments, business ties, who had editorial control, disclosures, how links are labeled, and which is the original article and which are copies, instead of mixing them into one placement total.

We check that a citation really backs the answer

We tell apart a brand mention, a link to a source, a cited page, a cited passage, an answer claim the source truly supports, a recommendation and a visit to your site, because each one answers a different question.

Visibility and business results stay separate

Coverage, what we see in AI tools, visitors, people searching for your name, buyer journeys PR helped and good-quality results stay separate, with outside events and uncertainty shown.

Basic to advanced

Everything it takes to build proof, earn attention and learn from what happens.

These 36 skills run from checking fit and where your sources stand today, through original research, preparing for journalists, relevant outreach and checks on what is published, to repeatable tracking, corrections and safe use of automation.

Fit, questions and starting point
Is this service the right fit, and where does it stop?Decide whether you need outside proof for AI search, regular media relations, AI SEO for your own site, technical fixes so bots can read your site, reputation fixes, crisis work, paid promotion or no PR campaign at all.
Map of buyer questions and decisionsMap the questions buyers ask when they look for options, compare, check, weigh risk and choose, by buyer role, market, AI tool and what is at stake, instead of building a generic list of prompts.
AI citation and sources reviewRecord current answers, mentions, citations, cited pages, types of sources, competitors, missing facts and uncertainty across an approved sample of questions.
List of coverage, your own content and profilesLine up media coverage, press releases, studies, interviews, directories, reviews, author and leader profiles, online press room material and the official facts on your own site.
Record of claims and their proofLink every important name, category, date, number, comparison and expert claim to its most trusted proof, method, owner, date to recheck it and way to correct it.
Agreed rules for measurement, risk and approvalAgree what we will deliver, what we will track in AI tools, what counts as a good-quality result, what is excluded, approvals, sensitive topics, disclosure rules, when to stop, budget and how often we make decisions.
AI tools, how they find sources and what we see
Settings for each AI toolTreat each tool's settings separately, following its current documentation: Google Search listing and preview settings, OpenAI's search access and AI-training choices, Perplexity's and Anthropic's search bots, and the separate bots that fetch a page when a user asks.
Dated records of AI answersKeep the exact question, the group of reworded versions, the AI tool, the model or mode when shown, whether we were logged in, market, language, device, date, the answer, mentions and cited pages.
Types of sources AI tools cite todaySort sources into publishers, industry analysts, academic, government, reviews, directories, online communities, partners, your own pages and copied articles, and check which types keep coming up for the chosen questions.
Bot access, Google listing and visitor trackingWork with your technical team on checks of robots.txt (the file telling bots what they may read), your firewall, Google listing, preview settings, main-page settings and analytics, without suggesting that access guarantees an AI tool will find, cite or send visitors.
Claims, experts and research plan
Where each claim and fact comes fromLink names, facts, ID numbers and important claims to a trusted source and a person who keeps them up to date.
Original research plan and methodSet the question, who or what is studied, the sample, how data is gathered, dates, the questions asked, what is left out, calculations, how certain results are, limits, whether others could repeat it and what can be published.
Experts and spokespeopleChoose real subject experts, check their role and experience, prepare approved themes and proof, and write down availability, conflicts of interest, sensitive limits and who checks facts.
Rights, privacy and proof checkConfirm the rights to use datasets, quotes, images, logos, participants' answers, customer stories and outside material; why data is used and privacy; that claims are backed up; sponsor disclosure; and any specialist approval needed.
Proof and source material
Proof no one else hasPublish first-hand methods, original data, comparisons, pros and cons and expert knowledge that are worth finding and citing.
Data studies others can checkCreate analysis with source files or written-down inputs, the method, calculation notes, tables, limits, a change history and a page that stays put for citing, when publishing rights allow.
Online press room, source pages and media kitsProvide current company facts, people, products, images, contact details, methods, press releases and proof in accessible pages and files, with web addresses that don't change and named owners.
Accessible charts, tables and downloadsGive charts text descriptions and data tables, label units and dates, use files that are easy to read and put key findings on a normal web page, instead of locking them inside an image or a PDF behind a sign-up form.
Journalists, pitching and relationships
Checking journalists, outlets and topicsReview relevant recent work, readers, region, format, how they use sources, editorial standards, timing and conflicts before anyone is added to a campaign list.
Rules for media contacts and opt-outsRecord where contact details came from and that we may lawfully use them, why the contact is relevant, when it was last checked, past outreach, complaints, bounced emails, opt-outs and one shared do-not-contact list.
Preparing pitches, replies and interviewsWrite short, honest subject lines and angles, explain why the source fits right now, attach only approved proof and prepare experts for deadlines, questions, how they will be named and fact checks.
Honest outreach and how often we follow upSet sending and follow-up rules by source and region, never pretend to be someone else or invent false urgency, and keep notes that make outreach more relevant, without treating journalists as a list to work through.
Checking what is published, rules and sources
Sorting unpaid, sponsored and copied coverageRecord editorial independence, any payment or business tie, the sponsor, how much control the publisher had, the original web address, copies, publish and update dates and whether the publisher chose to add the link on their own.
Checking coverage, credit and correctionsCheck names, job titles, numbers, quotes, whether claims are backed up, context, links, accessibility, dates and anything important left out, and send corrections through the agreed publisher contact.
Hidden labels and feeds that match the pageUse supported structured data (hidden labels that describe a page to search engines) and your own data feeds only where they match what visitors can see on the page today.
Checking links, disclosure and source rulesKeep paid or sponsored links correctly labeled, disclosures clear and easy to see, and outreach and material within current search, advertising, privacy and publisher rules.
Judging AI citations and results
Does the citation really back the answer?Check whether the cited page and passage fully, partly or not at all support what the AI tool said, instead of counting every link next to an answer as a win.
Repeat and reworded-question tests across AI toolsUse approved repeat runs, reworded questions, comparison checks and fixed rules for saving results, to show how much answers change from run to run and tool to tool, without pretending a small sample speaks for everyone.
Tracing copies back to the original sourceLink the original research, press release, unpaid article, republished copies, summaries, cited pages and corrections, so one story is not counted as many independent sources.
Keeping visibility data in its placeKeep platform reports, sampled AI answers, visitors and business results separate before deciding what any change means.
Visitors, searches for your name and good-quality resultsLink visitors we can trace to AI tools and publishers, people finding you by name, buyer journeys PR helped and accepted leads or customers, while respecting consent and the limits of tracking.
Learning, corrections and growing within rules
Learning from angles, sources and materialCompare question type, kind of proof, type of source, outreach route, market, timing, response and publication, without claiming a small sample proves a tactic always works.
Record of conflicting facts and correctionsWatch important public facts that conflict, how urgent each is, the proof, affected sources, outreach, publisher replies, the delay before search and AI tools re-read a page and anything still unclear.
Limits on AI help with research and draftsWe use AI to group sources or draft options only with approved source access, rules for handling prompts and outputs, a person checking everything and a strict ban on made-up data, quotes, journalists or qualifications.
Fair tests of how much PR addedWhere there is enough data and it is fair to do so, set up matched questions, markets, material or time periods in advance and note outside events to estimate PR's share, without ever holding back corrections that are needed.
Tracking and alerts within set rulesAutomate approved data collection, sorting and spotting changes, with limits on volume, access and data keeping, human review, corrections and a way to stop it. We never let software pretend to be a journalist or send mass pitches on its own.
Research and working tools

Tools help us find and check proof. Journalists still decide what is worth covering.

Search engines and AI answer tools, Bing Webmaster Tools, Google Search Console, website analytics, journalist contact databases, outreach tools, spreadsheets, research tools and monitoring services are examples of what we may use. We are not partners with any of them. What you can access, what they cover and what they measure varies by platform, market, account and date.

Look at your sources

Our Digital PR for AI search audit: seven checks that show what is ready to pitch, what needs fixing and what you shouldn't claim.

Each check links a buyer question to approved proof, relevant sources, outreach, anything that gets published, what we see in AI search and a practical business decision.

Check 01 · Fit and starting point

Buyer questions, AI citations and sources check

Prove that a real gap in outside sources exists and that PR for AI search is the right kind of work to fix it.

Your business can be missing from AI answers because of weak content on your own site, technical blocks, too little demand, the wrong questions, facts that don't match or a real gap in outside proof. This check separates these causes before any outreach.

Buyer questions questionsMap buyer roles, the jobs they need done, the questions they ask when searching and comparing, markets, language and what is at stake, using real research, not just a keyword tool export.
Sample of AI tools AI toolsChoose the relevant AI tools, modes, markets, accounts, groups of questions, reworded versions, number of repeats and dates to record results.
Mentions and citations today citationsRecord whether your brand appears, the cited pages, the types of sources, the answer wording, any recommendation and wrong facts.
The source picture sourcesLook at which publishers, analysts, public bodies, research, reviews, online communities, directories, partners and your own pages keep coming up.
Other possible causes causesCheck for gaps in your own pages, bot access, Google listing, business facts, profiles, reputation, product facts and measurement before deciding PR is the fix.
Decision and limits decideChoose between PR for AI search, regular PR, technical SEO, new content, reputation fixes, paid promotion, crisis support or no campaign at all.
Check 02 · Claims and business facts

Claims, business facts, profiles and experts check

Give every public fact and expert statement a trusted source and a person who corrects it when needed.

Repeating a claim on many profiles doesn't make it more believable if every copy traces back to the same unproven text. This check separates truly independent proof from the same claim copied around.

Business names and IDs namesMake official names, former names, people, products, services, locations, web addresses and fixed ID numbers match.
Important claims claimsList dates, numbers, comparisons, rankings, results, certifications, partnerships and other statements that need proof or should be removed.
Strongest proof first proveFind the original records, approved datasets, methods, qualified experts, customer permission and truly independent outside sources.
Profiles that match profilesCompare your own pages, publisher bios, directories, review sites, partner pages and leaders' profiles for important conflicts.
Expert readiness expertsCheck each expert's role, experience, topics, availability, how they want to be named, conflicts, approvals and topics where they must not guess.
Who owns corrections correctionsSet dates to recheck, signs a fact is out of date, affected web pages, approved wording, publisher contacts and who to escalate to, for each priority fact.
Check 03 · Original research

Research method, rights and source material check

Turn an interesting headline into proof that people can check, quote and correct.

Talk of a "huge sample", exact percentages and polished charts can't fix a poor choice of who to study, slanted questions, something quietly left out or data you have no right to use. The method and its limits go out with the story.

Research question questionState the decision it informs, who or what is studied, the time period and why a survey, content analysis, product data or a review by experts is the right fit.
How data is collected sampleWrite down the sources, how people were recruited, the questions asked, how it was run, who qualified, dates, how the sample was chosen, any rewards for taking part and who was missed.
Analysis analysisKeep versions of data clean-up, what was left out, any weighting, the calculations, how certain results are, the formulas or code used and reviewer checks.
Rights and privacy rightsConfirm what participants were told, consent where needed, why data is used, using only the data needed, licenses, confidentiality and the right to publish.
Being open about the method methodPublish who paid for it, who ran it, the exact questions, the method, dates, how many answered each question, definitions and limits on an accessible page that stays put.
Material package assetsPrepare findings on a normal web page, tables, text versions of charts, source files when allowed, images, expert background, notes for media and a way to report errors.
Check 04 · Media relations

Journalist, outlet, pitch and contact rules check

Make every approach relevant, honest and easy to review, instead of blasting an unchecked list.

A media database gives you possible contacts. It doesn't give you permission, tell you what each journalist covers today or guarantee interest. Human research and the publisher's choice stay at the center.

Outlet fit outletsReview readers, how deeply it covers the subject, region, format, standards, paywall and the real buyer or source question it answers.
Journalist fit journalistsCheck recent articles, topic, role, the sources they tend to use, stated preferences, deadlines, conflicts and where we got their contact details.
Angle and timing angleLink real news value, proof and relevance to what editors are working on now, without inventing urgency.
Honest pitch pitchCheck the subject line, preview text, claims, sponsor, any exclusive (one outlet gets it first), embargo (a set release time), attachments, links and expert availability before sending.
Follow-ups and opt-outs rulesSet a follow-up limit per person, how bounced emails are handled, complaints, opt-outs and shared do-not-contact rules.
Interviews and fact checks interviewPrepare proof, how experts are named, tough questions, reply deadline, how corrections happen and sign-off by an authorized spokesperson.
Check 05 · Publishing and sharing

Coverage, disclosure, link and copies check

Check what was really published, and how independent, easy to access and lasting the source is.

A live web page is not automatically unpaid coverage, an independent source, an AI citation or a link that follows the rules. Payment, control, where it came from and what it backs up must stay visible.

Type of coverage typeRecord whether it is earned, written by you, sponsored, from a partner, newswire, a press release, a review, a directory or another kind of source.
Checking claims and quotes accuracyCheck names, job titles, numbers, the method, quotes, context, credit and whether the article really supports the claim you hoped it would.
Disclosure and links policyCheck that sponsorship and business ties are disclosed, which links the publisher chose freely, the words around each link and that paid links carry a "sponsored" or "nofollow" label where required.
Original and copies copiesFind the publisher's main page, the press release, versions shared on other sites, scraped copies, heavy rewrites, update dates and groups of duplicates.
Access and how the page appears accessWith your technical team, check that pages load, robots.txt rules, whether Google can list them, preview settings, readable page text, accessible images and video and supported hidden labels.
Correction and removal correctionLog wrong facts, the proof, the request to the publisher, their reply, the version, affected copies and how long AI and search tools may keep showing the old version.
Check 06 · What AI tools show

Questions, citation support and source map check

Measure what an AI tool showed, without turning one answer that can change each time into a ranking claim.

A web page listed next to an answer may be unrelated, may only partly support it or may be one of several sources. A count of citations alone doesn't prove the AI tool used the source correctly or that it led a buyer to act.

What we record each time recordKeep the question, reworded version, AI tool, mode, account, market, language, date, answer, mentions and every citation shown.
How we repeat checks repeatsUse an approved number of repeats and comparison checks, and keep failed, empty and conflicting answers instead of picking only the good ones.
Does the source back the answer? supportCompare what the AI tool said with the cited page and passage, and label the support as full, partial, missing or impossible to check.
Where sources came from source mapLink originals, press releases, unpaid articles, copies, corrections and cited pages, so copies don't look like many different sources.
Platform reports reportsRead Bing's AI citation and sample search-phrase data, Google Search Console's combined figures, data from outside tools and visitor numbers, only within what each one is documented to cover.
Reading the results meaningKeep apart being found, being pulled in as a source, being mentioned, being cited, being recommended, factual accuracy, visits and good-quality results before acting on any of them.
Check 07 · Running it and rules

Lessons, corrections, privacy and automation check

Keep your proof accurate and respectful of others as sources, products and AI tools change over time.

Automation can help watch sources and organize proof. It must never make up quotes, pretend to be an expert, get around access rules or turn media relations into mass outreach that no one supervises.

Keeping material and claims fresh freshnessTrack methods, source data, product facts, experts' roles, links, licenses, expiry dates and signs it is time to refresh or retire something.
Handling contact data over time privacyReview where contacts came from, why we use them, the legal basis where required, accuracy, how long we keep them, complaints, opt-outs and which suppliers can access them, by region.
Wrong stories and correction risk riskSpot important contradictions, false information and safety or legal risk, and send each one to a normal correction or to specialist crisis handling.
Use of AI AI useKeep a record of approved ways we use AI for research and drafts, protect private data, check every output and ban made-up people, proof and placements.
Lessons and PR's share learningCompare groups of angles, material, sources and markets, and use controlled tests only when there is enough data, it is fair and outside events allow.
Handover handoverHand over proof, methods, the source map, media notes, permissions, opt-outs, corrections, the saved question sets, reports and named owners.
What changes

From scattered claims to proof that is ready for journalists, and measured results from coverage you didn't pay for.

Before

Your business wants to show up more in AI answers, but can't yet show which buyer questions, public claims or gaps in outside sources deserve a media campaign.

  • One screenshot drives the briefOne set of AI questions is treated as real buyer demand, without checking the market, repeating the test or looking for other reasons the brand is missing.
  • A website score picks the media list"Authority" scores replace the harder work of checking each journalist's topic, recent coverage, readers, region and need for the proof you are offering.
  • Every result looks the sameUnpaid articles, sponsored features, press releases, copies on other sites, mentions, links and AI citations are counted together, even though each proves something different.
Changes

Your team agrees the questions that matter for sales, fixes important facts and prepares proof that a relevant publisher can check before any outreach begins.

  • Business questions shape the briefBuyer research, chosen markets and the source gaps we found decide which proof and which publishers are worth pursuing.
  • Proof is ready to checkApproved claims lead to visible methods, qualified experts, data you may use, useful source material and honest limits.
  • Each pitch earns its placeRecent articles, fit with readers, the kind of source needed and timing give every journalist a specific reason to consider the story.
After

Your business can see what coverage was earned, what each source backs up, where your presence in AI search changed and whether another campaign is worth it.

  • Coverage is sorted and checkedThe record separates unpaid, written-by-you, sponsored, newswire and copied coverage, and notes factual support, disclosures, links and corrections.
  • AI presence is tracked in contextRepeated checks keep the question, AI tool, market, date, cited page and any conflicting runs, instead of reporting a permanent "AI rank".
  • The next round has a business caseSource quality, how journalists responded, visitors, good-quality results, remaining gaps, risk and cost decide whether to refresh, expand or stop.
How your business works

Useful outside proof depends on who the buyer is, what you claim and what is at stake.

Our method always starts from proof. What changes by industry is the type of source that counts, the experts, the research methods, what must be disclosed, how deeply claims are reviewed, how errors get corrected and which results we track.

How it fits together

PR for AI search works when every public claim leads back to proof a buyer can check.

The system links buyer questions, business facts, claims, methods, source material, experts, journalists, outreach, coverage, corrections, rules about which AI bots can read your site, what we see AI tools cite, visitors and day-to-day decisions.

The connected growth engine

Digital PR Services

Handles wider campaign ideas, news, quick-response expert opportunities, media relationships, reputation, awareness and relevant unpaid links, when studying AI search sources is not the main goal.

AI SEO, GEO & LLM Search

Handles the wider plan for your own website around this PR work: technical setup, content, business facts, hidden labels, how AI tools find your pages and changes across different AI tools.

AI Search Visibility Audit

Handles a one-off review with proof and a priority list, when making changes, producing material and ongoing outreach are not yet approved.

AI-ready Content and Schema for AI

Handles how each page on your own website answers questions, how it uses sources, keeping hidden labels in line with what visitors see and adding supported structured data.

Backlink Audit and Citation Building

Handles risk from your existing links and recovery, or keeping your local business listings consistent. PR for AI search does not buy links to boost rankings or replace managing local listings.

Technical, communications and specialist owners

Authorized people keep control of website access, facts, research, disclosures, legal advice, regulated reviews, who may speak for you, crisis decisions and publishers' independence.

One connected scope. Digital PR for AI Search Services is coordinated with the strategy, creative, experience, data and reporting it depends on, so responsibilities and handoffs stay visible in one written plan.

What to expect

See your first priorities for proof within days, then go through a real round of earning media coverage.

When your current coverage, key claims, buyer questions, markets and decision makers are available, we prepare the first fit and sources review in three business days. Proof ready for journalists can follow in weeks 1 to 2, and careful outreach in weeks 2 to 4. Whether publishers are interested, how long editors take, when they publish and when AI search tools pick it up are outside any schedule we can promise.

Digital PR for AI search, from priorities for proof to a next decision you own

Days 1 to 3

Fit and sources review

We confirm the questions that matter for sales, markets, chosen AI search tools, current coverage, key claims, other possible causes and who makes decisions. This step needs access to your current source material and people who can approve priorities.

KPI Priorities brief
Week 1

Claims and experts ready

We make names, product facts, dates and key claims match everywhere, then confirm the proof, spokespeople, rights, limits and review route needed for a believable story.

KPI Proof record
Weeks 1–2

Proof ready for journalists

We produce the agreed research, expert material or source page with a method others can check, useful tables or media files and approved wording. Your data, rights, content and specialist reviews need to arrive on time.

KPI Approved source pack
Weeks 2–4

Careful outreach

We contact journalists we have researched one by one, handle allowed follow-ups, support interviews and answer fact checks. Start depends on approved material, spokesperson availability and the agreed contact rules.

KPI Live outreach record
Weeks 4–8

Coverage checks and corrections

When coverage appears, we sort the type of publication, check claims, credit, disclosures, links and copied versions, and send any factual corrections. How publishers reply and when they publish are outside our control.

Months 2–3

What changed in AI search, and next decision

We rerun the approved set of AI search questions, review visitors we can trace and good-quality results, and hand over the proof, media notes, corrections and our recommended next step, with the limits of measurement shown.

KPI Decision report you own

Our full growth plan (all services together), month by month

Month 1

Foundation and review

We review your whole website, where you rank and your competitors, agree how the site should be organized, and set up hosting, analytics (visitor tracking) and your GoHighLevel lead system. The first agreed pages start going live.

KPI pages live
Month 2

Build and launch

The site is built or rebuilt. Main, service and industry pages go live with on-page SEO, website labels and technical fixes. Your Google Business Profile is improved and lead follow-up automations are switched on.

KPI pages in Google
Month 3

Early rankings, paid ads start

More pages built from templates (programmatic pages) start going live, paid ads and email follow-ups are switched on for early leads, and Google adds your pages to its results as the first rankings usually appear.

KPI search terms ranking
Month 4

Momentum builds

Rankings often start climbing, visits from free search begin to rise, ad spending is tuned to the return it brings (ROAS, return on ad spend), and groups of related articles and links from other sites build your reputation with Google.

KPI visits from search
Month 5

Results start to show

Main search terms can move closer to page one, the first leads from free search often arrive, AI tools may begin to mention you, and testing improvements to your pages (CRO, conversion rate optimization) helps more visitors get in touch.

KPI leads from search
Month 6

Growth builds on itself

Pages that are working are protected and improved, template pages bring in visitors searching for very specific terms, and SEO, ads, email and automation work together to bring steadier leads and sales. Timing varies by market and competition, and no ranking is guaranteed.

KPI leads and sales
How we compare

How we compare with a typical AI PR agency: careful proof and relevant outreach, not a promise of AI citations.

We check that publishers fit, make research methods easy to check, keep paid and unpaid media apart, check what coverage actually backs up, fix errors and read what we see in AI search in its proper context.

The risk of using a different agency for everything
  • Starts with a generic list of AI questions and calls a single run an "AI visibility score"
  • Assumes every missing mention is a PR problem, without checking for technical, content or demand causes
  • Ranks media targets by website "authority" scores and ignores the topic, readers and the kind of source needed
  • Turns a marketing headline into a "study" before the method, rights and limits are agreed
  • Uses contacts scraped from the web, templates and repeated follow-ups instead of real relevance
  • Lumps unpaid articles, paid features, press releases and copies on other sites into one placement count
  • Counts links and AI citations without checking whether the source backs up what the AI tool said
  • Treats special schema, an llms.txt file or letting AI bots in as a way to guarantee AI tools will include you
  • Credits coverage for AI visibility and sales without steady, repeated checks or looking at other causes
  • Automates tracking and pitching with no lasting owner for facts, privacy, opt-outs or corrections
vs
Softscotch
  • Keeps dated records of questions, reworded versions, AI tools, settings, dates, answers, mentions and cited pages
  • Separates real gaps in outside sources from work needed on your own site, bot access, business facts, reputation, product and measurement
  • Checks the type of source, outlet, journalist, recent work, readers, region, standards and timing
  • Publishes who paid, the question, the data, who or what was studied, the method, what was left out, calculations and limits
  • Sends honest, personal outreach, with records of where contacts came from, follow-up limits, bounced emails, complaints and opt-outs
  • Records editorial independence, payment, disclosure, original, copies, credit and which links the publisher chose freely
  • Checks whether each cited source and passage fully supports, partly supports or fails to support what the AI tool said
  • Uses each platform's current settings and supported labels that match what visitors see, with no promises that AI tools will include you
  • Keeps production, coverage, AI observations, visitors, searches for your name and good-quality results separate
  • Limits AI help to research and tracking that people check, while people stay in charge of outreach and corrections

Ethical, transparent, always on

One accountable team, strictly white-hat (only methods search engines and platforms allow), no shortcuts and no surprises. Support whenever you need it.

One plan, full-stack access

One Softscotch plan gives you access to the full service stack, coordinated around your priorities.

You do not need a separate agency or retainer for every channel. Your plan can draw from search, paid media, web, ecommerce, outreach, automation, lead generation, messaging, content, creative and operations. The agreed scope sets what is active, in what order and at what capacity.

Pricing approach

One price for everything, not a stack of separate retainers.

You get one price for your whole marketing, not a separate retainer for every service. SEO, paid ads, your website, automations, cold email and newsletters, we run all of it as a single scope, so you get the most result for what you pay. Agencies sell each of these on its own, so the invoice climbs whether or not that line drives a single lead.

Bought separately, service by service

A different agency or retainer for each service. The bill stacks up fast, and keeps climbing whether or not each one moves a single lead.

Questions, answered

What you should know before hiring us for Digital PR for AI search.

These answers cover fit, limits, source research, research material, outreach, paid and unpaid media, links, AI citations, online profiles, technical settings, measurement, corrections, timing, pricing and guarantees.

Filter
What is included in Digital PR for AI search services?

The work can include research on buyer questions and AI citations, a review of the sources AI tools use, making business facts and claims match, original research or expert material, checking journalists and outlets, media pitches and replies, interview and fact-check support, checks on coverage and corrections, dated retesting of AI questions, checks that citations back up answers, visitor analysis and a handover so your team can keep it running. Your proposal names the AI tools, markets, material, experts, types of media, how much outreach we do, approvals and how often we track.

How is this different from standard Digital PR services?

Standard Digital PR covers news, expert comment, campaign ideas, reacting to news, media relationships, reputation, awareness and relevant unpaid links more broadly. Digital PR for AI search starts from buyer questions and the gaps we see in sources, and adds tracing where claims and business facts come from, judging sources and citations, and honest limits on measuring AI search. The two can run together, but they shouldn't target the same searches or blur what each one delivers.

How is Digital PR for AI search different from AI SEO, GEO or AEO?

This page covers believable outside proof and the work of earning coverage from other sources. AI SEO, GEO (generative engine optimization) and AEO (answer engine optimization) can also include work on your own site: helping search bots read and list your pages, how content is organized, how answers are written, links between your pages, supported hidden labels, product feeds, testing how AI tools find your pages and wider measurement. We coordinate with those services, but a media campaign doesn't quietly include a full technical and content program for your whole site.

Can Digital PR guarantee mentions or citations in ChatGPT, Google AI features or other answer engines?

No. Publishers decide whether and how to cover you, quote you, link, edit, correct or remove. AI tools decide whether to read, pull in, use, cite or recommend a source, and this can change with the question, market, account, AI model and date. We can commit to the agreed research, proof, outreach, checks and tracking, and we report what we saw and its limits. We can't guarantee placement, citations, rankings or revenue.

What sources matter for AI search visibility?

The right mix depends on the question and the AI tool. It can include publishers, industry analysts, academic and government sources, specialist trade media, reviews, online communities, directories, partners and your own research. We look at which sources actually appear, but we don't assume there is one fixed list of "trusted" sites that works everywhere. Relevance, factual support, accessibility, freshness and independence matter more than a website score on its own.

How do you choose journalists and publications?

We start with the buyer question and the proof, then review the type of source, readers, region, format, editorial standards and recent relevant coverage. For each journalist we check the topic they cover now, their role, articles, the sources they tend to use, stated preferences, timing, conflicts and where we got their contact details. A media database or website score can help with research, but neither creates a real fit, gives permission or guarantees interest.

Can you create an original data study or survey?

Yes, when the right data, rights, expertise, time and review are available. The plan sets the research question, who or what is studied, how people or records are chosen, collection dates, the questions asked, what is left out, calculations, how certain the results are, who paid, privacy, limits and what will be published. Survey work can follow the openness principles of AAPOR (the American Association for Public Opinion Research). A catchy headline is never allowed to claim more than the method supports.

Do you create or edit Wikipedia, Reddit, reviews or other outside profiles to influence AI answers?

We can find facts that don't match and arrange genuine profile corrections through each platform's own rules. We never create fake identities, promote you without saying we are connected, write fake reviews, post misleading community comments, pass off paid articles as unpaid coverage or make Wikipedia edits that ignore its conflict-of-interest and sourcing rules. Publishers and online communities keep their own right to edit and moderate.

Do you use reporter-request sites or quick-response expert opportunities?

They can be included when a request is relevant and the expert, deadline, credit, proof and fit with the publication are agreed. We check each opportunity and prepare an honest reply, instead of sending generic answers to every request. No site, well-known old service name or reply guarantees publication, a link or an AI citation.

Do you buy sponsored articles or guaranteed placements?

Not as earned media. Paid, sponsored, advertorial (paid content made to look like an article), partner and written-by-you deals must be clearly planned, checked under contract, clearly disclosed and reported separately. Google's rules may require paid links to be labeled "sponsored" or "nofollow". A publisher can sell you distribution, but paying doesn't make the result independent proof or guarantee that AI tools will use it.

Will every earned article include a backlink?

No. Publishers control links. They may mention your brand or research without linking, change where a link points or remove it later. We suggest a useful source page that stays put and check published links and credit, but we never ask for links that boost rankings in return for coverage. Buying or automating links to game search results can break search engine rules.

Do you set up schema, llms.txt and AI crawler rules?

We can review and coordinate documented access and labeling needs with our AI SEO, Schema for AI or Technical SEO services. Google says its AI features (AI Overviews and AI Mode) use the same rules as normal Search, and that you don't need special AI markup, AI text files or other machine-readable files to appear. OpenAI, Perplexity and Anthropic each document separate bots for search, for AI training and for fetching pages when a user asks. Decisions must be made for each tool, and letting bots in or adding valid hidden labels never guarantees an AI tool will use or cite you.

How do you measure Digital PR for AI search?

We report whether proof and material are ready, careful outreach, how journalists responded, type and quality of coverage, variety of sources, factual corrections, dated mentions and citations, whether cited sources back up what AI tools said, visitors from publishers and from AI tools we can trace, searches for your name and accepted results further down the line. Bing's AI Performance report in Bing Webmaster Tools, launched as a public preview in 2026, shows total citations and a sample of the search phrases AI used to find content. Google's Search Console reports for AI features show impressions in AI Overviews and AI Mode; Google says they reached all sites as of August 31, 2026, though sites with little AI activity may not see one. The same activity is also counted in Search Console's overall performance data. None of these reports proves ranking, recommendation or that PR caused a sale.

Why do AI citation results change between checks?

AI answers can change with the wording of the question, earlier questions in the chat, market, language, account, mode, AI model, where the tool looks for sources and the date. Web pages, publisher coverage and search indexes also change. We use fixed question sets, groups of reworded questions, repeat runs and record the settings, and we keep missing and conflicting answers. The result is a set of observations, not a permanent ranking that applies everywhere.

What happens when an AI answer or article contains wrong information?

We first check the claim, the source and the harm it could cause. Publisher errors go into a correction request with proof and a log of contacts. Your own facts and profiles are fixed at their source. We recheck AI answers after the sources change and the tools have had time to re-read them, but we can't directly edit what an AI model says. Serious safety, legal, regulated or crisis issues go to authorized specialists.

How long does a Digital PR for AI search campaign take?

When your current coverage, key claims, buyer questions, markets and decision makers are available, the first fit and sources review can be ready in three business days. Proof ready for journalists usually takes weeks 1 to 2, and careful outreach can start in weeks 2 to 4 after approval. A survey, your own private data, a study across several markets or a regulated review takes longer. Publisher interest, editorial calendars, publishing, Google listing and AI citations don't follow a schedule anyone can guarantee.

How is Digital PR for AI search priced?

Price depends on how many buyer questions and markets we cover, source research, making claims and profiles match, how deep the study or material goes, experts, design, data and rights review, how many media we research, how much outreach we do, regions, approvals, how often we track, corrections and reporting. Our agency fee, research or panel costs, software, translation, paid distribution and related technical work are listed separately. We never price per guaranteed placement or citation.

What do you need from our team?

We need a named communications person and a business owner, accurate product and company facts, subject experts, your past coverage and source material, permission to use research or customer data, technical and analytics contacts, your key markets and buyer questions, quick review of claims and legal points, and a way to handle corrections. Before outreach we also need your approved rules for contacts, disclosure, privacy, spokespeople and risk.
