Advertorial and Sponsored Content Writing
Publish sponsored articles that earn attention without hiding who paid for them.
We'll reply with a written proposal: the work, what we need from you and an estimated timeline.
Readers want useful information, clear sponsorship and claims they can trust.
These six problems show where a paid article loses trust, misses a publisher's rules or creates risk while it is being approved and changed for different sites.
It isn't clear who paid for the article
No one has agreed who the sponsor is, who the advertiser is, who controls the wording and how the paid relationship must be shown before writing starts.
The article gives readers nothing useful
A sales pitch is stretched to look like an article, without answering a real question the reader has or admitting there are other good options.
The sources don't back up what the article suggests
Numbers, comparisons, explanations and expert opinions suggest more than the proof or the product details actually support.
Reviews and quotes lose their context
Details are missing about who gave the review or quote, whether they gave permission, whether they were paid or connected to you, how it was edited, how they used the product and what results they really had.
Publisher edits change the message
Headlines, sponsorship labels, images, claims and links slowly change as one main article is turned into several versions for different sites.
Being published is mistaken for business results
A live article or a click to your site is reported as proof of real buyer interest, sales or extra value that would not have happened anyway.
From your brief to an approved advertorial, ready for the publisher.
An advertorial is a paid article that reads like a helpful story but is clearly marked as sponsored. We write one that gives readers something useful and is honest about who paid for it. Softscotch turns your approved brief, proof and expert input into an angle backed by sources, an outline, a draft, a checked final version and files set up for each publisher. Getting the article placed, negotiating with publishers, buying ad space, building web pages and legal approval are separate services.
The work covers researching the angle and sources, the outline, writing, checking facts and claims, checking rights and sponsorship labels, revisions and clearly named final files.
Reader and business brief
We confirm who the readers are, the useful question the article will answer, the sponsor, the advertiser, who controls the wording, the format, how sponsorship is labeled, the publisher's setting and what is not included.
Checking sources and claims
We collect original and approved proof, then link each important claim to its context, its limits, the person who reviews it and the date it should be checked again.
Story outline and answering doubts
We plan the angle, outline, explanation, other options, proof, limits and next step around a decision that is genuinely useful to the reader.
Writing and editing by real people
We write and edit the agreed article so it is clear who the business behind it is, every claim can be backed up, sources are named and it sounds like your approved brand voice.
Reviews, rights and readability checks
We check customer reviews and expert quotes, any paid or personal links to your business, quotations, images, who wrote what, rights, links, headings and that the article reads in a clear order for everyone, including people using screen readers.
Files for each publisher
We adapt the approved article to each named publisher's rules, keeping a clear version of the sponsorship label, length, links, images, proof, approvals and who is responsible for taking it down if needed.
What the article achieved
We report on publishing, real reading, clicks to your site and any later results we can see, without claiming the article caused results we can't prove.
Agreed revisions and sign-off
We gather feedback from your named reviewers in agreed rounds, settle comments that clash, keep every version clearly labeled and record who approved the final wording, so nothing changes after sign-off without a note.
Your sponsored article stays useful, clearly marked as paid and backed by proof through every revision.
Softscotch links the reader's question, the proof behind each claim, human editing, approvals, rights and each publisher's version in one piece of work with one team responsible.
We agree why you are paying before we write the headline
The sponsor, the advertiser, who controls the wording and the sponsorship label stay clear in every approved version.
Being useful to readers is a must, not a bonus
The article answers a real question with proof, other options and honest limits, instead of pretending to be independent news.
Every claim keeps its source and overall impression in check
We look at words, images, comparisons, explanations of how a product works and customer stories together, because readers take in the overall impression, not each line alone.
You can always see who wrote what and who owns the rights
We keep records for experts, writers, any AI help, quotations, images, data and permission to reuse material in other versions.
Publisher changes can't slip in unnoticed
Sponsorship labels, titles, links, proof, images and disclosures are saved as named versions and approved again if they change.
We only report what the proof supports
Publishing, real reading, actions we can trace to the article, results you accept and results proven by a proper test are always reported separately.
The 36 parts of a trustworthy advertorial and sponsored article.
See how sponsorship labels, writing standards, claims, proof, publisher rules, the page readers land on next and measurement all shape sponsored content that is honest and responsible.
Research and writing tools always follow your approved sources
The tools and systems we list are examples of what we may use. Before we use any of them, we check access, accounts, country, rights and how each feature actually works.
Seven checks take your article from brief to files ready for the publisher.
Each check answers one approval question and leaves the sources, decisions, open issues and the next person responsible easy to see.
Reader and business brief
Agree the audience, the decision they face, the sponsor, the advertiser, who controls the wording, the article's job, the sponsorship label, the publisher's setting and what is not included.
The result is an approved brief that makes clear both what the reader gets from the article and who is paying for it.
Checking sources and claims
Rank original and approved proof by how strong it is, and record each claim with its context, what it suggests, its limits, who reviewed it and when it expires.
A claims map shows which statements can be backed up, which need conditions, which are rejected and which are still waiting for proof.
Story outline and answering doubts
Put the problem, how it works, other options, proof, who it suits, limits and the next step in an order that is genuinely useful to the reader.
The outline shows how every section helps the reader before we start the full draft.
Writing and editing by real people
Write and edit the advertorial so it is clear which business is behind it, every claim can be backed up, sources are named and it uses your approved voice.
The first draft and edited version keep their sources, changes and open questions so reviewers can see them.
Reviews, rights and readability checks
Check customer reviews, paid or personal links to your business, quotes, images, who wrote what, links, headings, image descriptions and an easy-to-read layout.
The check record keeps permissions, sponsorship label decisions and readability checks next to the final article.
Files for each publisher
For each publisher, set out the sponsorship label, length, format, labels, links, images, credits, proof, versions, approvals and who is responsible for taking it down.
A version list shows exactly what each publisher received, what they approved and what they later published.
What the article achieved
Keep these separate: publishing, real reading, clicks to your site, sales or sign-ups we can trace, results you accept and proof from proper tests.
The report separates proof that the article went live from how readers behaved and from later business results.
From a sales pitch dressed up as news to a useful article that is clearly sponsored.
Before writing starts, we confirm the reader's question, who is paying and how that is shown, the sources, rights, the format and who approves each part.
- Reader and sponsor briefThe intended reader, their useful question, the sponsor, the advertiser, who controls the wording, the sponsorship label and the call to action are written down.
- Sources and claims readyImportant facts, expert input, customer reviews and comparisons are linked to proof, permissions, context and reviewers.
- Format and rights limitsPublisher rules, length, links, images, licenses, extra versions, reviewers and the distribution work that is not included are all named.
The approved angle becomes a fact-checked article with rights cleared, a visible sponsorship label and carefully controlled versions for each publisher.
- Outline and first draftThe story answers a useful reader question and places proof, other options, honest limits and the call to action on purpose.
- Editing and rights reviewA named writer and editor finish the checks on facts, claims, reviews and quotes, sponsorship labels, credits, readability and permissions.
- Approved files for each publisherEach final file meets its publisher's rules while keeping the approved claims, sponsorship labels, links, images and full version history.
Once the publisher confirms it is live, we check the live version, reading data, clicks to your site and the next content decision against what was approved.
- Live article checkThe live headline, sponsorship label, article, images and links are compared with the version approved for that publisher.
- How it was readAvailable data on how many people saw it, read it and clicked is reported with the publisher, traffic source, time period and tracking limits.
- Record of what we learnedCorrections, updates, rights renewals, new versions and decisions to take content down each get a reason, an owner and a due date.
The approach changes with your type of business
We adjust the work to your readers, your level of risk, your data, rights, how often you publish and your business goals, while what we deliver stays the same.
Local services
For local services, a sponsored article has to reflect your location, the area you serve, when you are available, who answers inquiries and claims that are true for your local area.
Online stores and direct-to-consumer brands
For online stores and brands that sell direct to consumers, a sponsored article has to reflect true product facts, stock levels, promotion terms, returns, real customer proof and your profit margin.
Software companies (SaaS)
For software companies, a sponsored article has to reflect real ways customers use the product, product proof, free trials, connections to other tools, how quickly new users get value and the value of ongoing subscriptions.
Business-to-business (B2B) and professional services
For business-to-business and professional services, a sponsored article has to reflect groups of people who decide together, expert proof, checking whether leads are a good fit, handover to sales and the long wait before results show.
Healthcare and wellness
For healthcare and wellness, a sponsored article has to reflect accuracy, privacy, who is eligible for treatment, patient stories, sensitive health claims and the limits of what can be said about medical care.
Finance, insurance and legal
For finance, insurance and legal businesses, a sponsored article has to reflect the rules in each country or state, approvals, required disclosures, sensitive personal data and terms that change.
Education and training
For education and training, a sponsored article has to reflect program facts, dates, who can apply, enrollment, access for people with disabilities and claims about student results.
Publishers and media
For publishers and media companies, a sponsored article has to reflect who wrote it, which business is behind it, rights, fast turnaround times, corrections and original proof.
Marketplaces and directories
For marketplaces and directories, a sponsored article has to reflect value for both buyers and sellers, who is who, what is listed, data quality and the risk of counting the same action twice.
Travel and hospitality
For travel and hospitality, a sponsored article has to reflect busy and quiet seasons, location, availability, the value of each booking, cancellations and the current state of booking policies.
Industrial and manufacturing
For industrial and manufacturing businesses, a sponsored article has to reflect technical specifications, which parts work together, distributors, proof and good-quality inquiries.
Memberships and communities
For memberships and communities, a sponsored article has to reflect who can access what at each level, the ongoing value, moderation, renewals and support for members.
Know who writes the article, who approves the claims and who decides when it is published.
Your proposal separates the writing work Softscotch does, what we need from publishers and the decisions that must stay with you.

Nine records that support review, publishing and later fixes
The final handover links the brief, proof, drafts, approvals, rights, versions and results, so the article stays easy to manage after it goes live.
Advertorials and Sponsored Content
This record compares believable angles (a problem, proof, a comparison, an educational guide or a personal story) against the audience and the proof you have.
This check shows whether the page the article links to keeps the approved promise, proof, important terms and next step.
The map links every important number, customer story and comparison to its source, date, method, any conditions and the person who reviewed it.
Link each important claim to original proof, how that proof was gathered, the reviewer, the date and the situation where it applies.
This production record links sources, drafts, reviewers, rights, publisher versions and who is responsible after publishing.
This record shows which buyer concerns the article answers, where the answers appear and which approved source supports each one.
This testing record saves each version of headlines, explanations, proof and call-to-action changes, so any comparison can be understood properly.
The plan sets out what we can measure about publishing, reading, clicks to your site and later results, with the person responsible for each and its limits.
The record shows what changed, why it changed, who approved it and which source supported the decision.
The connected growth engine
The editorial planner sets the reader's question, the article's job, the story, likely doubts, other options and the line between helpful content and advertising.
The research checker confirms sources, what each claim suggests, how data was gathered, limits, conditions and dates to check again.
The writer and editor stay responsible for the story, credits, clarity, voice, versions and decisions about revisions.
This person checks sponsorship labels, paid or personal links to your business, customer reviews, quotes, images, licenses and the terms for taking content down.
The publisher contact confirms each publisher's rules, who controls the wording, formats, labels, links, approvals and the final live version.
The measurement lead keeps reading data, clicks to your site, which sale came from where, later results and decisions to update all separate.
One connected scope. Advertorials and Sponsored Content is coordinated with the strategy, creative, experience, data and reporting it depends on, so responsibilities and handoffs stay visible in one written plan.
A first draft is often ready in five to eight working days
The clock starts when the brief, proof, access to experts, how the sponsorship will be labeled, the article format and the people who review it are all ready. Fact checks, rights, revisions and adapting it for each publisher decide when the final files are handed over. The publisher decides when it goes live.
Advertorials and sponsored content, from brief to going live
Confirm the brief
Softscotch confirms the reader, who is paying, the type of article, sources, format, sponsorship label, rights, reviewers and the distribution work that is not included.
KPI ReadyShare the angle and outline
When the brief and sources are ready, a first useful delivery can often arrive in two to four working days, showing the story, the proof and the plan for the call to action.
KPI First deliveryDeliver the first draft
A named writer prepares the agreed article with a visible sponsorship label, claims backed by sources, clear credits and your approved voice.
KPI DraftReview and revise
Comments on facts, claims, sponsorship labels, reviews and quotes, rights, readability and from the people involved are settled in one controlled main version.
KPI ReviewPrepare publisher versions
The approved main version is adapted to each named publisher's rules, keeping the sponsorship label, claims, links, images and approvals the same.
KPI HandoverCheck the live article
Once the publisher confirms the article is live, we check the live version against what was approved and assign corrections, update dates, rights renewals and next decisions to named people.
KPI WatchOur full growth plan (all services together), month by month
Foundation and review
We review your whole website, where you rank and your competitors, agree how the site should be organized, and set up hosting, analytics (visitor tracking) and your GoHighLevel lead system. The first agreed pages start going live.
KPI pages liveBuild and launch
The site is built or rebuilt. Main, service and industry pages go live with on-page SEO, website labels and technical fixes. Your Google Business Profile is improved and lead follow-up automations are switched on.
KPI pages in GoogleEarly rankings, paid ads start
More pages built from templates (programmatic pages) start going live, paid ads and email follow-ups are switched on for early leads, and Google adds your pages to its results as the first rankings usually appear.
KPI search terms rankingMomentum builds
Rankings often start climbing, visits from free search begin to rise, ad spending is tuned to the return it brings (ROAS, return on ad spend), and groups of related articles and links from other sites build your reputation with Google.
KPI visits from searchResults start to show
Main search terms can move closer to page one, the first leads from free search often arrive, AI tools may begin to mention you, and testing improvements to your pages (CRO, conversion rate optimization) helps more visitors get in touch.
KPI leads from searchGrowth builds on itself
Pages that are working are protected and improved, template pages bring in visitors searching for very specific terms, and SEO, ads, email and automation work together to bring steadier leads and sales. Timing varies by market and competition, and no ranking is guaranteed.
KPI leads and salesTrustworthy sponsored content, not fake independent news.

Ethical, transparent, always on
One accountable team, strictly white-hat (only methods search engines and platforms allow), no shortcuts and no surprises. Support whenever you need it.
One Softscotch plan gives you access to the full service stack, coordinated around your priorities.
You do not need a separate agency or retainer for every channel. Your plan can draw from search, paid media, web, ecommerce, outreach, automation, lead generation, messaging, content, creative and operations. The agreed scope sets what is active, in what order and at what capacity.
One price for everything, not a stack of separate retainers.
You get one price for your whole marketing, not a separate retainer for every service. SEO, paid ads, your website, automations, cold email and newsletters, we run all of it as a single scope, so you get the most result for what you pay. Agencies sell each of these on its own, so the invoice climbs whether or not that line drives a single lead.
A different agency or retainer for each service. The bill stacks up fast, and keeps climbing whether or not each one moves a single lead.
Plus the one-off build, and a fresh contract, kickoff and onboarding delay for every new service you add.
We run your whole marketing as one engagement, so you get the most result for what you pay, not a pile of disconnected invoices.
- SEO: technical, on-page, content, local and AI search
- Template-built pages (programmatic SEO), links from other websites (backlinks) and authority
- CRO and landing pages
- Paid ads across Google and Meta
- Automations, cold email and newsletters
- WordPress build, setup and ongoing care
- One team, one roadmap and one point of contact
- Reporting tied to qualified leads and revenue
Priced to your site after the audit. No sticker price, and no per-service creep.
Questions to ask before you hire an advertorial writer
These answers explain the limits set by publishers, rights, the law, data and results before any work begins.
What is included in your advertorial and sponsored content service?
The work usually covers the reader and business brief, checking sources and claims, the angle and outline, writing and editing, checks on sponsorship labels and rights, agreed revisions and versions ready for each publisher. Your proposal names the length, formats, interviews, reviewers and the files you will receive.
When are advertorials and sponsored content a good fit?
They work well when your business has a useful question to answer for readers, believable proof, a clear sponsor and advertiser, a named place to publish and people who can approve the claims, sponsorship label and rights. They are not a way to fake independent news coverage.
What do you need from us to write an advertorial?
We need to know your audience, the useful question for readers, the sponsor and advertiser, the true facts about your product and offer, sources and experts, permission to use reviews and images, how sponsorship should be labeled, each publisher's rules, the page the article links to and the named people who will review it.
Which publisher rules and conditions do you check for advertorials and sponsored content?
For the chosen format, we confirm the rules for sponsorship labels, who controls the wording, length, links, images, author details and approvals. The publisher or media owner still decides whether to accept it, where it appears, the publish date and any edits after it is live.
How do permissions, rights and sponsorship labels affect advertorials and sponsored content?
Experts, people giving reviews, customers, quotes, images, research data and business relationships can each come with their own rules on permission, licenses, privacy and disclosure. You and your qualified advisers approve the decisions for each country.
What records do you keep while we write and change advertorials and sponsored content?
The handover can include the approved brief, the map of sources and claims, interview notes, drafts, sponsorship label decisions, records of reviews and rights, reviewer comments, versions for each publisher, approvals and proof of the live article when available.
How do you measure the results of advertorials and sponsored content?
Reporting can cover approval and publishing status, the version each publisher used, available data on how many people saw and read it, clicks to your site and later results you share with us, such as sales. Each number keeps its definition, volume, time period and limits.
Does an approved article, an ad view or a sale linked to the article prove business value?
No. An approved file, the publisher accepting it, a live article, a real read, a click, a sale traced to the article, a result you accept and extra business that would not have happened otherwise are all different things.
How do you keep simple observations separate from proper tests?
A fair comparison needs set versions, the same sponsorship and claim meaning in each, enough readers seeing each one, agreed results to measure and safety limits. Normal ups and downs after publishing are just observations, not proof of what caused them.
Do you do the advertorial and sponsored content work yourselves?
Yes. Softscotch researches, writes, edits and prepares the agreed files ourselves. Building web pages, negotiating with publishers, paid promotion, translation, design work or expert review is only included when your proposal names it.
Where do people stay in control of advertorials and sponsored content?
People approve the sponsor's identity, the sponsorship label, proof, claims, who wrote it, customer reviews, rights, versions for each publisher, corrections and taking content down. No tool is allowed to publish anything on its own.
Can you guarantee results from advertorials and sponsored content?
No. Softscotch is responsible for the agreed research, writing, review and handover. Whether the publisher accepts it, the publish date, search rankings, links from other sites, visits from the article, engagement, leads, sales and revenue are outside our control.
How long does the first advertorial take?
When the brief, sources, experts, sponsorship label direction and reviewers are ready, we can often share the angle and outline in two to four working days and a first draft in five to eight. Rights, revisions and adapting it for each publisher can push the final handover into the second or third week.
How much do advertorials and sponsored content cost?
Price depends on how much research is needed, interviews, length, the number of formats and publishers, rights work, expert reviews, revisions and reporting. Publisher fees, ad spend, photography, design, translation and outside tools are separate unless they are listed in your proposal.
Does Softscotch give legal approval for advertorials and sponsored content?
No. Softscotch can follow the written rules you give us on claims, sponsorship labels, privacy, rights and accessibility, but you and your qualified advisers make the legal calls and give final approval for each country and type of product.
Which work is not part of advertorials and sponsored content?
Contacting and negotiating with publishers, paying for placement, buying ad space, free press coverage, building web pages, legal review, original research, unlimited content, translation, photography, design and promotion are separate unless they are listed in your proposal.
How do you handle source material, personal data and logins for advertorials and sponsored content?
We only use approved source material and the least access needed for the agreed work, with named owners and clear steps to delete data or remove access. You approve who handles personal data, the legal reason for using it, licenses, supplier terms and the limits on sensitive data.
What happens after the first advertorial goes live?
The handover records the approved versions, sources, rights, open issues, contacts for corrections, dates to check again and the next decision. Once the publisher confirms it is live, we can check the live article against what was approved and set up a list of updates, new versions or removals, each with an owner.
